Maniac is classic GTA meets Vampire Survivors - out now on Steam

I played the demo, and I bought it yesterday (gonna play it later or some days time after I'm done with Dragons Dogma 2) and I gotta say it's pretty good. I hope they didn't fix the wacky physics that happen from time to time, it's bloody hilarious.

SurrounDead looks like a mix of DayZ and Project Zomboid

I actually did review this game as "not recommended", and while it is good (assuming exploration and base building is a key interest to you), the game feels lacking in many other areas.

It shows promise in its current state, and it rather depends on how much you can ignore the existing issues of AI and how much you enjoy the base building/hoarding loot (seemingly pointlessly)

Factorio is about to increase in price so be quick

Great game, but even I don't like this price hike. Barely any developer does this.

That said... the game is worth it, but regional pricing sucks...

Shame.

dbrand reveal the full details of Project Killswitch for Steam Deck

Never bought anything from dbrand myself, doubt I ever will - not because of this issue, but because of reasons such as I'm a cheapskate and I also don't particularly care much for cases/skins myself.

But anyway, dbrand's humour is generally funny, but "If you don't like it, move." doesn't come across very well and makes them seem rather up their own arse to be honest.

Minecraft - The Wild Update is out now, Java & Bedrock now one purchase

Quoting: mr-victory
Quoting: RandomizedKirbyTree47My concern is that they are planning on discontinuing Java edition
They can't. Most players will prefer Java over Bedrock because Java supports mods but Bedrock doesn't. Millions of people (no exaggeration) would go nuts if they did that.
Bedrock has mods; whether it 'supports' is a different thing.

The Framework Laptop Mainboard is out as a standalone platform

I think I'll be buying one of these (the cheapest one, I don't like spending money after all), love the idea of small form factor units such as this.

Plus 3d printing my own enclosure? Love it. Hope to see more mainboards in future from Framework, I could see myself buying these multiple times in my life.

Valheim gets christmassy, armour stands and silences tamed wolves

Silencing tamed wolves is probably something all my neighbours would have appreciated when the server was up.

But, it was my spot originally, everyone was just welcome to live there. Regret asking mind you, place was laggy as hell with all the terraforming and amount of fire in the area, the amount of tree's cut down, etc.

Anyway, I think I'm waiting for mistlands before I play again, which I'm very itching to do!

KDE developer suggests Plasma needs to be simpler by default
30 Nov 2021 at 4:42 pm UTC Likes: 2

I do agree that better defaults are needed, one of which that I think they should make it default to double-click on things; sure it's been single click for years with KDE, but I'm sure many users are changing this to double-click as they're accustom to more than the amount of users that prefer single-click because that's the way it is across many operating systems and desktop environments.

Sane defaults matter for sure, and having to change numerous things to make that experience feel identical to what's expected isn't a great start.

Slimbook think they have the 'One' for you with their new compact mini-PC

Seems similarly spec'd to a Lenovo M75q Gen 2, which the best model sports a 4750GE (which aren't being shipped yet cause covid afaik). Not sure how much of a difference it is in performance, and it's probably around the same price (again, if it were available).

One thing about this though with Slimbook's One, it comes with Linux which is pretty cool to see alongside such a price tag.

I've been eyeing up the M75q gen 2 for a while but not really needing it, but if I were to buy either I'd probably pick Lenovo, just because of the colour and familiarity with the type of chassis it uses.

However if it was going to be a main PC (4800H is quite capable in games, but less so for modern titles depending on if you care about high graphic settings), then Slimbook's One would be a VERY solid choice for the price tag. Heck, I almost want that now having typed all this...
