Quoting: dziadulewiczLooks like a brilliant app! Is there no snap for it?? Just got into Linux and enjoying Ubuntu Store :woot:Seems there is no snap [External Link] nor flatpak [External Link] (on Flathub anyway) for it currently. I think in theory you can package it yourself. But even though it is presumably a lot easier than traditional packaging, it is still presumably an undertaking that needs a bit of dedication and a bit of time and a bit of technical knowledge.

Quoting: KnefA heads up: GamerOS requires a wired connection for at least the first setup (this is listed in the instructions but not on the requirements). You should make a PR or at least an issue here [External Link] then.

"Sorry I don't want to have to deal with Windows in my life and to be fair, my skills in that realm have gotten rusty and seriously outdated. But I will still gladly help you with any Linux problems including setting it up for you."
For those special people you still want to tech-support ofc. Don't just do it for anyone (without having a reason you like).

Quoting: MakiMe and my partner (who still uses Windows even if I tried to get them to switch)...Maybe not applicable to your case at all, but the way I got some people around me to switch was to stop offering any Windows tech support. :D

Quoting: CybolicAh, we really do need more pacifist games so this is definitely one I'll keep an eye on!Yes, a nice change of pace. There probably quite a few games that have a nice narrative or emotional impact cut short by combat or war focused gameplay shoehorned in.

"Women are not interested of IT" statement was pretty funny. Women were extremely important to the development of computers whenever they were given a chance to even be there. Without boys' clubs pushing them out with their exclusionary behavior. IIRC at WW2, men were off fighting each other while women progressed IT sciences for us. Because they were allowed temporarily.
Why we need to actively increase equality is because there are many systemic factors that counteract equality. E.g. many things in our culture. So even if you as an employer never discriminate you won't get diversity of perspectives (which enriches your project and society as a whole) through passive means alone.
I think the active monitoring and targeted ads mentioned by @holisticboy are a nice maneuver. People who are against active diversification find this more measured (and costly) approach more palatable, I would guess. It makes sense that targeted ads would work to a certain degree - if I'm going to hear an ad that sounds like an invitation to a college boys-only club, then I would from past experiences and associations realize that I would have a bad time there without even thinking about it.

Might give a try to that Vintage story. Looks cool. I really wish it were open source. I'd instantly buy 2 copies. Maybe more.
Currently waiting until one of the open-source ones will be equally complex and with cohesive design (systems and aesthetics) and intuitive enough for new players. Though I doubt a natural human lifespan would be enough time for me to see that happen...

My personal wishlist for SC2 would be:
* RGB power state LED instead of a single color like PS4 controllers to indicate different players.
* Build quality that doesn't feel as cheap. Idk the plastic feels... weird. And the Xbox one controller is good example of what to aim for in this regard.

My experiences were on an ultra-portable 2-in-1 laptop. I wanted to try this a lot but my show got stopped.
At first the launcher wouldn't appear. Workarounds were fine (open-source launcher and direct launch. But these didn't support mods and without mods the lag was unbearable as well as water being invisible for me. There's mods for both of those 1 [External Link] 2 [External Link]. I couldn't figure out how to use mods without the official Paradox launcher, but luckily I got the launcher working somehow. (Probably by running the launcher and launcher updater via terminal instead of Steam a few times).
So when I got the mods and launcher working, the final show-stopper was lag. The mod improved the lag issue, but didn't completely fix it. (Obviously I set all the graphics as low as possible and even lowered the resolution to below 1080p). I would've been content if I could have consistently had 20 fps. But instead it dipped to below ~0.2 fps every now and then. That is too low for even me. :D
I really love Paradox games and exotic cultures (more distant in time is more exotic as well), but this relationship will have to be delayed for now.

Quoting: no_information_hereWell done to their team! Very well-deserved numbers.Three months? I'm intrigued. I would want to get more enjoyment out of the game, but beyond grinding through equipment upgrades and boss battles I don't know much what to do. I do enjoy my infrastructure projects (hellevators, horizontal highways, controlling spread of infectious blocks and partially reversing it) and I do a bit of decorating, but my fantasy is much more limited in Terraria than in Minecraft (third dimension makes it a lot easier for me).
For me, this game is like Civ. I don't dare re-install it on my computer for fear of losing all my free time for (another) 3 months.

I wanted to mention a DL-related feature I would like in Steam - shutdown/sleep/close_steam after downloads finish - a functionality that torrent programs usually have. I would be very happy also if I would have more control and I could just via CLI run Steam specifically to update stuff and then it exits when done and I can chain a shutdown command after that (like I often do with other updates -
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y && sudo flatpak update -y && sudo snap refresh && sudo systemctl halt).- GOG now using AI generated images on their store [updated]
