So the setting is very much in line with the Penumbra games, sifting through desolated ruins and remains; no other people in sight.
While I am still looking forward to that, I'm also still wishing it would have gone in a different direction. More like the live-action teasers, a cyberpunk-is/noir-ish FMV game. And with people you interact with.

As someone who's with ScummVM, I very much disagree with you there, neffo.
Old games you be properly ported, even to the point of them being able to run on non-x86 architectures, sometime which Wine can't do.

Personally, I'm psyched to see the remastered version Broken Sword 2 there. :)
I just wish the Linux version would be up on Steam as well. Ditto with the remastered version of Broken Sword (the first one).

As others have said, source code being lost actually happens quite often, yes.
Hell, I'd be down for such jobs myself, provided the engine code gets released under the terms of the GPLv3. Well, maybe not System Shock 2; I never played that game after all and feel no connection to it.
so they couldn't port it even if they wanted toWell, they could have reverse-engineered it. I'm pretty sure there are people willing to do that if you pay them.

Quoting: s_dIn fact, I think McCoy's comment is his most tactful (and funniest) version of that same comment I've ever seen from himThat's only because I've set the bar for tactfulness pretty low. :P

Also very annoying that we have to run after the developers to actually tell us what happens, at least us non-backers. Apparently, the information was inside a backer update, but why make that a backer-exclusive information and not tell anyone else? :/
