Quoting: SuperuserDamn it Icculus! You and your vague promises and your broken port of Killing Floor (on NVIDIA GPUs only). I'm glad I didn't buy RO2 in advance.
Hey, be careful there. Don't dis a man who has done more for Linux gaming than most other individuals combined. ;)

The Cheapskate's Corner (May 22nd - 29th) (UPDATED)

Quoting: muntdefemsThe Humble Double Fine Bundle finished yesterday, having grossed moren than a million and a quarter dollars from more than 150,000 sales. Quite a respectable figure but it could have done better, some might argue.
Hey, how dare you reference me in context, you fiend you. :P

You want us to trust you again Epic? Actually pay Ryan Gordon to release his UE3 port. Then maybe we can talk. Sorry, do I sound a little bit jilted? :P

The over 8 GB download is also a little bit daunting.

I have a more academic question - what actually attracted you to this website? I am not asking to try and dispute your complaint by this, but I am genuinely curious why someone would go onto a website that honestly believes in Linux games just so you can try and write them off. You are entitled to express that opinion, but I am a bit at a loss why you bothered to be here in the first place.

Quoting: berarmaI'm amazed at the number of new games getting fullscreen right. Multimedia controls, Alt-Tab switch, activities overview, all working. Same with the Double Fine titles.
Not with Psychonauts they don't. Still, do these titles use SDL2? I had heard that it has a lot of those kinds of fixes.

It would actually be interesting to see Halloween's adoption rate across the UK over time; one would suspect it would have been the English who would have adopted it before the others. Poor Guy Fawkes...

Here in Canada it has been around for ages, of course, due to its rather large presence to the south. Although, having it so late in the year is not a real advantage here in Siberia west, with there almost always being snow on the ground by late October. At least we had the sense to push Thanksgiving back.

Quoting: SpeedsterStacking is very charming -- assuming I get around to the huge Brutal Legend download one of these days, I wish I had paid more for the bundle... but did have Psychonauts already and wasn't so sure about Costume Quest.
Well, if you really want to you can up how much you give after you have payed - just go to the page provided by your Humble key and play with the slider.

Quoting: CheesenessI'll agree that if the Frozenbyte bundle had happened today, it would have pulled much more attention that when it happened, but find it hard to believe that it would have been on par with the "Indie" bundles simply because there are people (with poor taste) out there who don't find FB's work appealing.
^_^

Quoting: CheesenessI imagine that Costume Quest is probably less appealing to audiences who don't celebrate Halloween (I gave it a try last night, and I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of references).
So Halloween has not reached Australia yet? Because I know the Brits have basically adopted it now and I have heard it is making inroads into New Zealand. Although, I would still understand not grasping the full cultural lore behind it. Maybe it has just not reached Tasmania.

More games will be heading our way!

Looking at the Edge of Space page again, I realized it was one of the games that was being advertised by a Windows only banner back when they were popping up on my Linux Desura client, until Desura finally got their act together and fixed their banners. So the fact that it is now supposed to be coming to Linux somewhat amuses me.
