No offence, but there are so many love letters to 8 and 16 bits from the Indie community that all other games are getting jealous. ;)

That would not really change my mind as to turn around and accept a Linux only Bundle (for me at least) would be more than a little hypocritical. Plus I do not see the problem with pixel art in of itself. :P

Quoting: CheesenessSure, the games are good, but the philosophical aspects of Humble are what resonate with its community, and I've never been comfortable with the notion of expanding at the expense of your existing followers (loyalty really does need to run in both directions). That basically sums up my views. Too many things have been given such good will only for them to just turn around and stop responding to their core supporters and principles just for illusory dreams of growth. And it never really seems to work out all that well in the end anyway, which is the truly depressing part.

Quoting: CheesenessSteam's DRM is insidiously seductive - it comes alongside features and services that gamers embrace, and it can be very easy to overlook. Like all account based DRM/subscription systems, it can be very easy to lose access to your games, and it seems that many remain unaware of the potential pitfalls (which is never a good thing).Personally what annoys me more is not users being seduced but developers. I would not have a big beef with Steamworks and the like if developers still put out non-Steam versions for those of us that find the "pitfalls" unacceptable.

Other than easily accessible data and Steamworks integration (if that is what you are into) I wonder how this truly scales up to the likes of EDuke32.

I am not actually all that thrilled by this, to be honest. Desura's Alpha Funding program looked to be doing quite well for them recently, and Desura needs the attention a lot more than Valve does. Desura's program does still looks to be a lot more appealing to new or smaller developers than Valve's does though.

Yea, we are still working on it and there is already a private beta running (via desura). Just not yet for the public. :)
