GOG have something mysterious planned for December 1st

The NWN port was at the time and still consists of a few unsupported binaries that were made to use the data from a Windows copy of the game. It was never commercially released and Bioware has not put out a single game with Linux support in the decade and a half since.

I do not see how GOG.com would be expected to change that.

FreedoomRL?

All the replacement graphics he would need are there.

Quoting: PublicNuisanceThe games that do come to GOG for Linux are usually top notch. Installers run great and very few issues from me. I've bought Linux games from Humble Store and Itch that were more work to get going. While GOG doesn't do as much as they could for Linux the work they do is of good quality.
Indeed. GOG.com could do more for Linux, but so could Steam, or basically any other distributor. Most of the complaints come down to Galaxy not being on Linux, when it is not even out of Beta on Windows yet, and sour grapes over The Witcher III, which really is beside the point.

GOG are running a big sale, lots of titles up for cheap

Just picked up Shadowrun: Hong Kong - Extended Edition. Quite convenient, considering that I am well on my way through Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut after having already completed the main Dead Man's Switch campaign in Shadowrun Returns last week.

Quoting: HamishGreat. Now they need the Linux version of Penumbra so I do not need to depend on my old Desura copy.
It is available DRM-free from the Humble Store. http://www.penumbragame.com/buy.php [External Link]
Check again Linas. They just sell a Steam key:

Which is part of the reason I do not like buying from Humble anymore. Regardless, it is ridiculous to have Penumbra be the only one of their games on there without a Linux version.

Neil deGrasse Tyson Presents 'Space Odyssey', will feature Linux support

Quoting: HamishNo offence intended to Mr. Tyson, but it would probably be more accurate to describe him as being a popular scientist instead, given his prominence as a science communicator over his more academic work.
That is true, but I'd argue that popular science is just as important as hard (unpopular? :)) science. Shared science is the best science.
It was not meant as a value judgment, but the reason you know him is because he is on television, rather than for his actual studies and the work he has done as an astrophysicist and cosmologist.

Contrast him to someone like Richard Dawkins, who admittedly is also under the media spotlight, but is known for his significant contributions to evolutionary biology, especially with memetics.

In Tyson's case, the only one to really reach the public eye is his advocacy for the reclassification of Pluto.

Quoting: lucifertdarkThe words Popular, respected & scientist shouldn't be used to describe him, Fraud & liar would be better descriptions for him.
Somebody still upset about what happened to Pluto then? :P
