Slitherine To Improve Linux Support
22 Jan 2014 at 2:02 pm UTC

Yeah I was more then happy to buy the CD version, imagine my surprise when I only got a download link for the windows version with only windows on the CD as well.

After going through their support though they gave me a link to download the Linux version and their keys are cross-platform so alls well and ends well.

I am debating about gifting my copy to someone and buying this new fangled CD with Linux version on it. As long as there is a Penguin on the box I'm happy!

Linux Game Sales Statistics From Multiple Developers

Quoting: Quote from RobI buy as many Linux games as I can, so far on Steam 190+ games that support Linux, everything else is on my Wishlist to be bought as & when I have spare cash.
Very nice, you like me where you've only played a handful of them? I have a "Linux - Completed" group on steam that only has about 10 games in it. I spend most of my time playing CK2 or EU4. Damn paradox. Wont be long before I've spent 500hrs on those too.

I try and buy everything I can even know I dont have time to play everything just to support every Linux game, I have 158 on Steam and I've not played half of them :-/.

Might have to give up on my quest to own every Linux game, it was easy before Steam :)

I'd love to hear from Paradox Interactive on numbers. It's hard to do numbers on AAA titles that we have so far when you consider that many of them were already out before they were ported (ala Metro LL and HL titles). Something like EU4 coming out (which I consider somewhere between AAA and indie game) just after Steam came out of beta would be good to find out about.

Be nice if they brought out the touchscreen controller. I like having both as options. I'd get two for myself, and then two non-touchscreens depending on price difference.

At this point, im not sure if ill get a steambox, an actual valve branded steambox? id be all over it. Anything else just seems like buying a regular machine preinstalled with steamos, which isn't a bad thing. But I get enough of that with my alienware laptop (sans steamos obviously :P).

That alienware one does look very very nice though...

Valve Apparently Has 12 Partners So Far For Steam Machines

Alienware Steam machine? Damn, I do look forward to seeing all of these, dont even need one. Do want though!

Has anyone seen anything anywhere about how companies see the steambox? I wonder if it will have its own category on steam? For instance, I would love to see FIFA 15 on steambox (maybe EA would see it as a console and not a rival).

Time to start pestering EA I think.

Cities In Motion 2 To Arrive Soon On Linux With A New Expansion
3 Jan 2014 at 7:24 pm UTC

Well keep in mind folks, buying a game after it comes out on Linux so it clearly counts as a Linux sale is always a massive positive, there are always steam sales on (subscribe to savygamer as well for even more discounts everywhere else). We all knew this game was coming, but I refused to buy it until Linux version is out.

Of course they could count Linux installs but the beancounters wont see it that way. Same goes for papers please, cant wait to play that, wont buy it yet though (158 linux games on my steam list, never thought id see the day!)

I love Paradox interactive, never played any of their games before now (how the hell I missed out on playing EU all these years sickens me to my core), I started playing Crusader Kings 2 when they released the Linux version and I've been hooked ever since.

Crusader Kings 2 and Europa Universalis 4 are amongst my favourite games and time sinks. I both love and hate them for that, I'll buy this simply because I support their Linux efforts, I might have missed out on them if they never went Linux.

So thanks you Paradox (in case you read this).

XCOM: Enemy Unknown Looks Set To Hit Linux

Ah sweet, I've got this game (seriously, following savygamers.co.uk is bad, you end up buying stuff all the time), so this is another game I can play on Linux soon. Very happy.

Another Don't Starve Survival Game Content Update
25 Oct 2013 at 1:57 pm UTC

Yeah! Bloody winter. The first time I got to winter I was like "finally, ive made it, ive got loads of food saved, growing even more, I'll be fine".

Then I froze to death :-/.

I also had 2 respawns through some random magic stuff I found, so I actually died 3 times from freezing to death. Starting from the very beginning is a little long when youve just got an epic basecamp up n running with pens of beasts and whatnot. I'll attack this game again soon, these updates make it hard to stay away tbh.
