Don't get me wrong, I prefer Goldeneye any day, but merit where merit is due in terms of the technology in SoF!

Quoting: elmapul"Soldier of Fortune was the first game to feature the GHOUL system, allowing for the depiction of damage to specific parts of the body, "Indeed it did, the difference is that Soldier of Fortunes damage model will not only register a hit on various body parts that equate to damage, but they also render the damage too (e.g. if you shoot a leg with a shotgun, you can blow it right off the body or take a chunk out, etc).
acording to wikipedia this game relased in 2000?
prety sure goldeneye 007 came first...
anyway, anyone got luck running koumanjou densetsu on linux?

NVIDIA takes on AMD FSR with their new open source Image Scaling

Yeah they way I read this is:
Thanks to AMD once again for forcing Nvidia to do something that they said wasn't possible that they could've done at any time but chose not to. I know that's blunt, but this really highlights how important competition is. Nvidia could've done this at any time, but just chose not to, and thanks to the AMD FSR it has really forced their hand (this goes with other stuff too, such as FreeSync, high core-count CPUs, etc).
Edit: Looking at those images provided, the text looks better on the new Nvidia tech, but the wall textures appear to be "softer" and less detailed. Either way, its nice to have competition, and it looks like this will be really nice in some cases (being able to choose from either method is going to be awesome).

Valve answers the question: should developers do native Linux support or Proton?

Their goal is to sell Steam and Steam Decks, but if they lock the platform too much either way they'll ultimately make less money, and reduce the chances that Steam Deck is a winner (increasing money again).

Quoting: GuestHaving no preference or stance is the only way of winning here; that's their answer. They either say "native or die" and alienate developers who cannot support native releases (devaluing their steam-deck), or the say "proton all the way" and alienate the devs who have (and will) make Linux ports.Quoting: aufkrawallPretty much as I see it - I had meant that it was a politician's answer in that it was a response to the question, but didn't actually answer the question. Which is understandable, because Valve really shouldn't have a preference on the matter if it's an open platform and they can't very well say anything that might bad-mouth developers (the very people they need to have on board).Quoting: GuestIt's quite a non-committal answer, the sort you get from politicians.Diplomats can also be politicians and I think it was a polite way of saying that half-a**ed Linux ports with stupid restrictions for crosss-play etc. are not the way to go.
And so I just wanted to point out that Valve didn't really give an answer, so there's no use in anyone trying to say that they did, but I do personally think your statement is what Valve would like to be able to say.

It's a bit of an old practice nowadays, but very common for files to not be set to executable from within an archive!
12 Oct 2021 at 9:14 am UTC
Quoting: heidi.wengerThat sounds like the file has not been set to "executable". You can do this by right-clicking the file and setting it to "Is executable" in the permissions, or if you use a terminal you can "chmod +x FILEYOUWANTTORUN" and it'll launch when double clicked every time.Quoting: PublicNuisancethe file run_game.sh indeed does not "run" when i click itQuoting: hardpenguinThey're updated now.Quoting: PublicNuisanceIf anybody wants to donate to help keep the project going they accept donations through their Itch.io page:I was about to mention they are also on itch.io but the version is not up to date (yet) 🤓

Quoting: heidi.wengerOk i go to the downloads page and click Linux and it downloads SuperTuxKart-1.3-linux-64bit.tar.xz. But when i click that, the installation won't start: all files just show on Engrampa Archive Manager. On LInux you don't have to install it, simply run the "run_game.sh" file.
But on Windows section it downloads SuperTuxKart-1.3-installer-x86_64.exe and i can install with a click.
So how to install on Linux with a click?

I've been playing this with the kids since release, and it has worked fine on Linux all the way through (including xbox live play).

Quoting: GuppySomebody explain to me the various packages though :huh:The Base game is just Minecraft Dungeons by itself. The ultimate DLC bundle contains all of the DLC that was released for the game(new levels and areas) but not the base game itself (so you already need Minecraft Dungeons). The Ultimate pack is both the base game, as well as all of the DLC!
- base game 19.99€
- Minecraft Dungeons: Ultimativt DLC-bundle 19.99€ ( listed under packages containing this game, but seems to be only dlc minus the base game )
- Minecraft Dungeons Ultimate Edition 39.99€ ( doesn't seem to have it's own page? )
Presumably the 'Ultimate Edition' is the base game + 'Ultimate DLC' - but it's 0.01€ more expensive that hardly matters, but the fact that that its the same price rather than cheaper combined with the fact that there isn't a page separate page or even bundle info for the Ultimate Edition really makes wonder

Quoting: WilldrickAre you guys able to play the native version? I used to run it via Proton but it seems that the EQU8 anticheat thingy now is blocking us.Try verifying the files, I had the same issue and it had to re-download one of the files that became corrupt. After that, it worked just fine (this is on Nvidia)

I noticed you can strip away the adtracker and the link works just fine (it has the full gog URL in it). @Liam Dawe is there still a way for us to give you the affiliate purchase with the adtracker removed? All good if not, just thought I'd check because I'd prefer to support the site!
Anyway, thanks for sharing the sale, some really awesome deals and games on this one!
