if we could just use publishers and devs as a tag for my collections in my library automaticallyMore options for automatic collections would indeed be useful.
Valve reveal new Steam store menu and enhanced search now in Beta

a) both old and new show the prices, but only the new makes it obvious when it's a sale price (useful improvement)
b) old shows 5 search results, new only shows 4 (making space for other stuff and keeping it short overall?)
c) both show a tag match and a developer match; the old shows a game count for them, so seems better to me
d) as far as I can tell, the "advanced search" button just duplicates clicking on the magnifying glass or hitting enter
e) old shows when things are in your library or wishlist, new does not
So comparing using those: new wins for a, old wins for b, c, and e, and I'd say old kind of wins for d, but since that's counted as b, we could call it a draw on that point. If they fix c and e, new search would be better.

Search box now shows the price also which i dont think it previously showed, thats nice but again it has big banners on the search list and fits less titles into it..Comparing the search in the client versus on the web, using "blood" since "Bloody Spell" is in the screenshot (on sale cheap right now; picked it up and found it well worth the bargain price):

Pretty small list of supporting games? I'm surprised they didn't get more.

Did Beamdog get folded into Aspyr due to Mythforce not selling well? Nightdive is also "related" to them now, if I remember correctly. All of them used to give us Linux ports, but all of them stopped doing so. :(

Retro games made with AGS is one thing, but actual DOS games with CGA graphics? Why? Nostalgia for existing games is one thing, but does anyone really want that for new games?

I don't think I was reading GoL regularly back then (happypenguin.org was still a thing), but in those pre-Steam days, the Humble Indie Bundles were HUGE for Linux.

ALL items/keys have an expiry dateThat's annoying, but at least it's clear up front. Worse was when an expiration was added after the fact (fortunately rare).
Steam update brings accessibility settings and Proton enabled by default to make Linux gaming simpler

Contrast with the default for Windows games: "<default compatibility tool> selected by you for this title." I don't know if it ever shows "Proton Hotfix selected by Valve for this title" as I tend not to have those shiny (expensive) titles; big discounts are more my speed.
In any case, the messaging isn't great, but it's there. Would be cool if there was an equivalent to Greasemonkey for the Steam client, so you could apply user scripts to fix things up.

The 'available for Windows only' warning was something that I depended on a great deal. It's harder to see now, and with confusing messaging, but the info is still there in the game details, below the Steam Deck compatibility info: "Runs on this computer via Steam Play. Steam Linux Runtime 1.0 (scout) selected by you for this title." I don't know if it ever shows Runtime 2.0 or Runtime 3.0, I haven't found any examples (I also don't see them in the compatibility tools options, though I do have them installed).

Fedora proposal to drop 32-bit support has been withdrawn

Hmmm... apparently the hardware support was so bad, Intel ditched it for a software emulator:

couldn't there be a conversion layer that would allow 32-bit applications to run in a pure 64-bit environment?I think the decrease in performance would be quite tangible. As I recall, IA64 had some kind of 32-bit emulation *in hardware*, and it got absolutely smoked by AMD64, which had native x86 support. The Itanic is no more, and Intel makes AMD64 CPUs.
