Europa Universalis IV Complete Collection available on Humble Bundle

Got the Humble EU IV bundle back in January 2020; don't remember if it was "complete" at that time, but there's definitely stuff in the new bundle that wasn't in the old one (but nothing that looks worth shelling out another $20).

Alice: Madness Returns appears on Steam again, works well on Steam Deck with 60FPS fix

The first game used idTech3; I wonder if ioquake3 can run it, or if it had too many modifications. After a quick search, it does appear that someone has been working on it, but it's not clear how usable it is:

I was going to say "I sure wish they showed the Steam Deck compatibility info on the game page" - but then I found that they do! It's just buried pretty far down in the right-hand column. When I get some time I'll have to see if anyone has made a GreaseMonkey script for moving that to a better spot, and if not try to do so myself!

Quoting: ShmerlA question to experts. How do non Steam games work with controllers on the Deck? Is controller support untied from Steam? Same question for all controls, like pads, touchscreen and so on.

If I understood Liam correctly (in the story about Epic Game Store on Steam Deck), you have to run non-Steam games from within Steam to have controller functions work correctly. Hopefully he will clarify if I got that wrong.

John Romero releases new DOOM II level to raise funds to support Ukraine

QuoteThis is Romero's first DOOM II level since the release of the original.

This article has the same headline, but then goes on to list multiple releases that contradict it:

Or were those other releases technically for Doom, and not Doom 2?

A blended view of the library could be nice - or at least a search across the whole library.

Tomb Raider's Linux port from Feral Interactive delisted on Steam

It seems odd to me that they would have a time-limited license, since the vast majority of the work happens up front, but I suppose they can negotiate lower costs that way, and renegotiate/cancel in the future based on recent revenue.

Wine 7.2 spilled out with the beginnings of a WMA decoder

QuoteBeginnings of a WMA decoder.
With this all games that uses Media Player to run a video playback in the game could run without tweaks?

WMA = Windows Media Audio, so I wouldn't count on this helping with video playback (that would be WMV).

Isn't it a Zachotronic game?

I meant Jane Jensen's adventure game (not Mobius Front '83):

Quoting: RaabenNow I assume that if it's not a day 1 native game it's never coming.

Often true, but not always; some examples are Divinity: Original Sin, Moebius, and most recently Encased. The long delay on the first two was definitely frustrating, but they *did* follow through in the end. Still hoping that Kapia follows through...
