Quoting: einherjarThey do well, if you remind yourself, that we are about 1% of there customers ;-)For gamers, perhaps. But I'm sure the overall percentage is much higher; many professional workstations use Linux, not Windows. The average users just have the built-in IGP, and don't factor into their market at all.

Quoting: elmapuli think we should remake it on godot instead of keep working on the old code base, replace the assets with new ones, and have 2 separate sets of levels, the classic ones and new levels more polished and curated.Sounds like you have yourself a project! If not, why complain about how others spend their time?

Always nice to see Windows referred to as legacy. :)

Quoting: LeopardLowering costs for games have Linux versions is a bad idea.I think developers would be more inclined to fix their bugs, rather than remove the Linux version, if there was a financial incentive to having it available. They could still leave it up as buggy, but the support burden is much higher that way (or potential customers see that they just ignore all the bug reports). Perhaps there needs to be a stipulation regarding keeping the Linux version up to date.
We might end up with bad performing ports just like VP did with Moto game. Many half assed ports done just for lowering costs.

Quoting: liamdaweSo...they don't support Linux. ;)Not disagreeing! But apparently they have made changes multiple times to improve compatibility with WINE.

Quoting: liamdaweBlizzard don't support LinuxBut they do have some Linux-friendly devs (or at least used to - the creator of SDL was there for a while). Rumors have it there were native Linux ports of some of their games, but corporate did not want to release them, even as unsupported builds.

From the article: "Ubisoft has been able to accurately port one of its most advanced titles from Windows and DX11 across to Linux and Vulkan." Would be nice to see them attempt to recoup some of that development cost by actually making it available outside of streaming.

Quoting: LeopardI've seen it too; don't remember which game for sure, but I could have sworn it was something based on Unity, not UE4.Quoting: EhvisI actually had to uninstall this game because it went into a reinstall loop on steam where it updating->verifying->updating->.... forever.Well,if you had free space less than 10 gb that happens. At least that is what happened to me

Quoting: KeyrockI was not a fan of the reboot nor Rise of the Tomb Raider, mainly because they were 90% murder simulator and 10% actual raiding of tombs, and I would much rather the ratio was reversed... Now port HITMAN 2, please. At least it's honest about being 100% murder simulator? LOL!
