It was always known that we need to get 100,000 signatures on that petition for it to have any actual chance of being considered properly. Because at that time it will become a public issue.
With 10k signatures it only requires a govt employee to respond.

One good thing is that this time the response trended towards understanding the issue, although they avoided the concept of preservation of art and only treat it as "product".

Yeah. Alen Ladavec was the one that pulled the Linux development there. When he left for Google Stadia, all Linux knowledge was gone.

It's funny how common this is. A company has excellent Linux support, everything just works. Then the one Linux guy leaves, and suddenly Linux is completely impossible to support.

I've seen reporters have a discussion where they say "Oh that dude, he's got magic knowledge, he does things with Linux".

It's more like most people just don't understand that you... Just... have to try.

I can see this being amazing for people that are disabled in their hands.

I knew a guy whom as a kid fell into a high-voltage transformer, he has two½ fingers and a thumb on his left hand, and a half-finger and half thumb on his right.
He often couldn't play some games in a LAN because he didn't have the dexterity to join us.

This device would have been a great thing for him.
