The next Valheim biome will be Ashlands, a land of the dead

Considering that the game can be quite disabled when it comes to performance, it would be nice if they focused on that - as well as more content - before they start adding accessibility features.
The team seems very limited when it comes to resources, reaching a 1.0 version when it comes to content, to get out of early access, should be their focus. It seems they haven't expanded very much, despite selling a lot of games.

I don't mind them adding accessibility features, but that feels like something worth doing when you have a functional game.

Don't be mistaken, I have a lot of respect for Iron Gate and I've spent 200 hours in Valheim (almost the only game I play).

This. There's better looking games that run a lot smoother than Valheim on my tired old laptop.
Yeah, I play it on an AMD Ryzen 9 3950X, 32 GB RAM, RX 6700 XT and 5120x1440 screen, and I guess it's mainly the resolution that drags down the FPS to below 60. That's quite many pixels to push.
A "positive" note though is that the Linux performance matches the Windows one, both for OpenGL and Vulkan.

Open source voice-chat levels up with Mumble 1.4 out now

Great to see progress! I was one of the users terrorising them on their github bug list to get the 1.3 release out, since the old Qt4 was being EOL on all platforms.
I recently got a friend to use it when playing Minecraft, I think he liked it after the initial problems of getting up and running for the first time with a game and voice chat. He was used to running Zoom.

The Zink driver for OpenGL over Vulkan shows good performance on NVIDIA

Since everyone is going in with Vulkan now....

Only games. There is a whole world out there that is not games and I don't see that world switching any time soon. If at all.
We develop medtech software that uses Vulkan. We have 2 products, where the older one has a 15 year old OpenGL code base, and a newer one that is about 3 years old. We chose Vulkan for the newer one and hopefully we can port the older code base on the coming years.

It's how I speak, how I write and I really don't see the confusion. It's nothing to do with gender issues.
You always refer to specific singular people as they? Interesting, I don't think I've ever come across anybody who does that. You mean that if you talk about you friends Mike's car, you say "I really like their car", even though he is the sole owner of it, and you know that he is the specific owner in this case. And that he is a he.

I guess my confusion comes down to the specific information in this case, and the choice of using using a more general expression (their) instead of a more specific choice (his).
But you cleared it up, so I'm not confused anymore!

Valheim gets another small release fixing up crashes, a little optimization too

Quoting: AzPI really wish they'd update to a very new Unity engine, as well as optimize quite a lot.

I recently bought a 5120x1440 superwide screen, which forced me to buy a new graphics card as well (a 6700 XT), but Valheim still barely maintains 60 fps.
Performance tests of that card shows really nice framerates in demanding games like Battlefield 5 for 4K resolution, so a game with graphics like Valheim should run like tuxracer, I would think. Don't get me wrong, I love the game and the graphics, but I can't say (with a straight face) that the fidelity can be compared to BF5, or games like it.

I do however understand that the game is in pre-release mode, and new features and expanded gameplay is more important than optimization at this point.
Are you definitely running it in OpenGL mode? The Vulkan mode is still under development and the performance is terrible. I couldn't believe the difference when I swapped back to OpenGL.
I've tried both and Vulkan gave me a few fps more, at least when I quickly tested the difference. But thanks for the tip, I'll test it out a bit more.

Isn't it his own blog, or are there several people writing it?
Doesn't really matter. The grammar is perfectly valid.
