they didn't advertise it, but they did add FSR with this update. Might help with the performance.

Cyberpunk 2077 2.3 is out with new vehicles, auto drive, AMD FSR 4, Intel XeSS 2 and more

Just for info, you can use FSR4 if you use the latest ProtonGE as well as passing PROTON_FSR4_UPGRADE=1 as environment variable when launching the game.

It tried both on the last of us Part 1 and Cyberpunk 2077, works like a charm.

The status of VR on Linux is REALLY sad. Especially considering Valve Index is supposed to be "officially supported".

I'm using Kisa Mesa, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, with an AMDGPU 6750 XT and I tried different combinations:
- Native / Proton
- Latest stable SteamVR / v1.14
- With/Without async reprojection

And none works the way it should.

Native -> No VR at all, not even implemented
Proton & latest SteamVR -> launched in VR, but no possible async reprojection, and it's so stuttering that it makes you sick
Proton & v1.14 -> no stuttering, but doesn't launch properly in VR, and you have the old interface

I'll just continue to use VR on Windows… this is just ridiculous

Do you have OpenXR enabled?
Are you saying they didn't target SteamVR?

those are the dynamic dependencies, I don't see openxr anywhere

Valve released big new Steam desktop, Steam Deck and SteamVR 2.0 updates

SteamVR is in a very sad state on Linux... Used to work pretty bad, with missing comfort feature such as desktop access from inside steamVR, or having the cameras working, without mentioning normal direction errors on the rendered controllers and the frequent glitches. But for a few months it just stopped working at all, and I installed my first windows since windows XP on my machine to be able to use my super expensive headset. I keep trying after each update they do, but still not working, even after claiming they fixed it.

Not very promising for VR on Linux. I hope it gets better, because so far it just seems unsupported

Dota 2 set to remove OpenGL support, new hero announced and more

Not feeling so good about the removal of OpenGL, mainly because Vulkan has been borked for me and some other users for some time now, as the game does not even boot up (https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Dota2-Gameplay/issues/3863 [External Link]) so running "-gl" is the only option to play.. :/ Weirdly enough, as one user mentioned, we are recommended using an older Nvidia driver.
Same here. I have Radeon RX580 8GB and Vulkan API in Dota 2 works for me very bad. Poor performance, langs, graphics corrutions. Horrible lags when casting spells or broken spells textures. That only few issues.

Solution was switching to OpenGL. No issues and better performance.

Also, every time Dota gets a big update or a new Mesa comes out, I check the Vulkan API in Dota and still unfortunately no improvement.

I checked a lot of tips, with different launch options etc. nothing helped. I did bug reports on Valve Github and either no response or no solution.

For me, OpenGL is the only alternative to play Dote on my hardware.
I have a RX580 too, and mesa, and yet I have no problem with dota running on Vulkan

Steam Deck hits over 4,000 titles marked either Verified or Playable

Quoting: DemandredDiscovering this community since I got my steam deck. Thanks for this site !
Noob question, all games that run on the steam deck would work on a linux pc as well? Shall I jump into a linux experiment.... wait I just did. first time on a linux desktop to install the emulation on the deck.
Steam deck is the hardware, the console itself. It comes installed with Steam OS, which IS a linux distribution.
To keep it simple: yes, the games that work on steam deck should work on your desktop/laptop with Linux installed.
But in reality it's a bit more complex, as the GPU would be different, the version of the drivers or of wine/Proton may differ, … but in general yes, it should work. At least I have no problem with it :D

In my case i was able to pay, but with the bank account of somebody else. They wouldn't accept me to pay with a french bank account and deliver to Germany.

Oh daaaayyyymn... No I didn't think of that. DUH!
Ok so THAT's a lot less impressive indeed. Damn. It's barely anything at all.
I mean, I got a reservation like 2 weeks ago now and I have to wait till October to get mine. It's gonna be a while for most other people, too.
October might be a bit too optimistic. I ordered 3 days after the beginning of preorders last year, and still haven't got it so far
