Humble Bundle decides you need another launcher for parts of Humble Choice

Good thing i have not yet claimed the current month as i'd need to pay for the next 12 months of my classic sub. With this launcher- and windows-only bullshit and how many months i've skipped now because the games weren't really interesting i'm really struggling to justify that to me :/

Quoting: pleasereadthemanualI personally don't mind at all that GOG Galaxy is not available on GNU/Linux, and I'm not sure I want it anyway. I use Lutris for GOG games.
Well, Lutris doesn't offer cloud saves unfortunately, so that's a big downside of Galaxy being Windows-exclusive.

Quoting: LinasTo be honest, the difference does not look as striking as with Quake 2. I think this shows just how good the "fake" lighting can look if done right.
Was about to say the exact same thing - really impressive how little this changes the look&feel.^^

Really cool!
From the first impression, i'm even considering giving up my own updater [External Link] in favor of that, really well done :D

ΔV: Rings of Saturn's demo appears to help sales, now lets you save your game

Quoting: koder
The main adjustments done recently mean you can save in the demo but you're now limited to 30 days in-game time, which is still very generous.
That's not entirely accurate. You can save all the time, just as you could previously, but now you can load these saves in the demo, as long as less than 30 days passed in game. Previously, you just could not load, period. This is purely extending what you can do in the demo.
Still pretty generous for a demo :D

SteamOS for the Steam Deck gets slimmed down to 10GB

Does anyone know what the hell they are including to make it that big? Even with several proton-versions preinstalled it shouldn't get up to 10GB, let alone 24.
Or are they maybe going in the silverblue-direction and include a bunch of redundant libraries?

PUBG's newer anti-cheat sounds problematic for the Steam Deck and Linux

Quoting: hardpenguinWhile I understand the point of the concerns over intrusive anti-cheat solution, the problem stands. I would rather play one of the most popular video games in the world on Linux thanks to Proton than to use Windows.
The point is more that it s a scary shame that most users, even on windows, wouldn't care about kernel-level malware as a requirement to play that game. No matter the OS, that should be a red flag for any sane user...

Euro Truck Simulator 2 & American Truck Simulator get big upgrades

I wish they would improve wheel-support (especially FF) and VR ^^

New Humble Choice and multiple Humble Bundles are live
9 Dec 2021 at 4:01 pm UTC

Quoting: toorTheir bundles keep getting shittier and shittier. The time of humblebundle has gone. It's Steam time!
Yeah it's been a while that it was a real "wow". But at least this months choice is better than the last few (although i'm still skipping i think). Hopefully this trend continues ^^
