Love the "Exclusive on Epic store - haha just kidding" in the trailer ^^

The first-person exploration puzzle game "Supraland 2" managed to get funded

It seems the native version is only really bad on nvidia. While it was slower than proton, it was not "abysmal" for me on my rx580. IIRC it was around 100FPS with proton and around 60 on native.
But yeah, Epic should fix this as it really is far from acceptable for an engine of this scope

Really looking forward to it - wouldn't it be for epics bullshit in the last months that made me not consider crowdfunding anymore, i would've backed them instantly...the first one is a real masterpiece ^^

Quoting: MunkLooks neat, but personally I don't see much of a need for this. If I want optimized performance, Feral's GameMode [External Link] has me covered. I don't know what I could gain from having different configurations other than on or off. For example, are there cases where I'd want to run a game at medium performance? Kinda high performance? I just don't get it. It does visually look nice though.
Even if you don't use the profiles you could still use it for genereal overclocking.
And as VSync can cause issues it might be a neat way to safe power, heat and noise to downclock via a profile instead if a game is running at 200fps for example

Quoting: ShabbyXDoes it need root password everytime it applies settings? Does the whole UI run as root on startup? If the latter, no thank you! I would like to see the developer think about the security implications too.
It uses a helper that needs root-access. You can set it to not require a password: https://gitlab.com/corectrl/corectrl/wikis/Setup [External Link]

Quoting: GuestThe app just launched so give it time to add a flatpak or snap versions :)

and btw, is it a GTK application ? or does it have its own UI ?
It seems it uses QT but has build it's own UI-Design that is inspired by the radeon software on windoze. Looks quite nice i think.

I just installed it (from AUR, so no manual fuzz and no need for snap/flatpak :P ) and played around a bit - i think thats the nicest attempt at GUIs for this purpose we had so far, especially considering that this is its first (public) iteration. I'm digging it.

Epic Games' Tim Sweeney talks Linux and gaming some more, says Linux is "great"

Wow, some sensible talking from Swiney? I'm impressed.

Now if only his actions stood up to his words and for example his joke of a store would not actively prevent his beloved competition...

A guide to Steam Play Proton, Valve's tech for playing Windows games on Linux / Steam Deck

Quoting: BeamboomAre there ever any reason to run anything but the latest version of Steam Play on any game, ever?
there have been regressions in wine, too.
So yes, it could occur that a game that used to run perfectly with an older version of wine/proton starts acting up in a newer version.
Last time i had this issue was with Star Citizen, that wouldn't install/update with wine > 3.19 (iirc) but ran fine (even better) with newer versions once it was installed ^^

Seems that the Linux version of Supraland will not be heading to GOG (updated)

Sad to hear that the linux-sales haven't been good after release of the Linux-Version. I've just waited for that to pick it up and really enjoy it (although it's quite a bit lower fps than the demo had on proton)
