Wow, nice move! It's not something that should be viewed by other devs as a way to "screw over" linux-folks, but in this case and how it all came together, i think it is a reasonable thing to do.
I think i got mine through humble, though- so no refund for me i would think.
But new found respect for Newman nevertheless

Quoting: constHis name is kind of fitting. Penner is a foul name in german. It used to be used similar to english "hobo", but now pretty much means "jerk".
Was about to write this - ironic that the name is so fitting for someone that posts such a serious attack vector without responsible disclosure pratices....

It seems the native version is only really bad on nvidia. While it was slower than proton, it was not "abysmal" for me on my rx580. IIRC it was around 100FPS with proton and around 60 on native.
But yeah, Epic should fix this as it really is far from acceptable for an engine of this scope

Really looking forward to it - wouldn't it be for epics bullshit in the last months that made me not consider crowdfunding anymore, i would've backed them instantly...the first one is a real masterpiece ^^

CoreCtrl, a new FOSS Linux tool to help you control your PC with application profiles

Quoting: MunkLooks neat, but personally I don't see much of a need for this. If I want optimized performance, Feral's GameMode [External Link] has me covered. I don't know what I could gain from having different configurations other than on or off. For example, are there cases where I'd want to run a game at medium performance? Kinda high performance? I just don't get it. It does visually look nice though.
Even if you don't use the profiles you could still use it for genereal overclocking.
And as VSync can cause issues it might be a neat way to safe power, heat and noise to downclock via a profile instead if a game is running at 200fps for example
