Not a fan of card games such as HearthStone, but seeing that it's Valve and Valve supports Linux; AND, assuming it will have day 1 Linux support. I will probably give this one a shot.

Hmmm, never purchased a single game from Garry and or his studio. I've found him very unprofessional in terms of his business actions/operations, so this whole thing doesn't really surprise me much.

Quoting: jorvalHey,

because the lack of a good native MMO on Linux and this article i buyed albion yesterday from the storepage.
God, i'am not a noob but installing the Client on Arch wasn't an click and play thingie.

1. Launcher from AUR didn't install. (OK editing the pkgbuild and deleting !upx from the array worked.)
2. Launcher download driect from the site didn't worked either out of the box.
the https://forum.albiononline.com/index.php/Thread/54258-Tuto-Linux-Have-a-working-game/?pageNo=1 [External Link] Forum helped and i got the client working.

my question, are the devs aware that installing the game on linux is a non trivial tasks and they are the reason because the shiped libSDL is crap?

second if there is some kind of linuxguild or players iam absolute interrested in joining ;)
i cant promise how long or how much i play AO, it has it's charm esp. similiaries to EvE in a fantasyset but over the years a transformed into a casual player (thanks to GW2 on wine).
maybe a drop it after a month, maybe i sink my time completle in it ;)

cheers J.
The dev's don't support any other GNU/Linux distribution but Ubuntu. In addition, if you don't buy it from the Steam platform installation is a pain. However, there is a solution - Flatpak. I got tired of dealing with the development team back and forth. At one point I simply asked for a Steam key, but they told me no due to how their key generation works. So, I basically walked away from the game. About a month ago I heard somewhere, might have been here in the forums, that a Flatpak version was made and well maintained. I tell you what - kudos - to the flatpak maintainers because I've had zero issues on my Fedora 28 system.
