Have gotten HeroicBashLauncher working, butchered zenity out of it as well
So assuming for the deck, it is locked down somewhat there is a git that releases portable python.
https://github.com/indygreg/python-build-standalone [External Link]
The musl builds don't share any libraries so are self contained, grabbed 3.8 it worked well.
https://github.com/indygreg/python-build-standalone/releases/download/20220227/cpython-3.8.12+20220227-x86_64-unknown-linux-musl-install_only.tar.gz [External Link]
after extracting it anywhere, should have a python folder go into the bin folder (python->bin)
in the a terminal in the bin folder enter
./python3 -m pip install -U pip --user
then
./pip install legendary-gl
which will install legendary, you should find legendary in the python/bin folder your currently in.
download The butchered version of HeroicBashLauncher
https://github.com/Ross-Carran/HeroicBashLauncher/archive/refs/heads/main.zip [External Link]
extract the setup.py file and the folders func and GameFiles into the python/bin folder
run ./setup.py
now add the newly made batch files in python/bin/GameFiles to steam.

Haven't got a deck to try it, have been using HeroicBashLauncher for normal linux for a while for game links for steam, it's linked to in heroics wiki as well.
https://github.com/redromnon/HeroicBashLauncher [External Link]
Creates functional bash scripts for steam/lutris would be a solid recommend, if it works without having to install anything extra on the deck for it to work.

Edit:* Sorry, it's the current steam ea build, they update each system depo for each build.
-What steam does is downloads the build that is relevant to your operating system, if it is available.
-If it's a beta version you usually need to select a beta build from a setting in the steam launcher for the game. *
Like, steam has Depot for it on Linux, and it has been the default download on Linux since around the middle of last year.
Only caveat is it doesn't supply all dependencies, and you need to install libc++ for it too work.
Edit:libc++ has dependencies of LLVM/clang (need to double check, its been a while) no longer needed, at least on Pop_OS, already installed. game has a shell file which it probably runs on first boot, that installs dependencies at least on ubuntu variants. Game shouldnt be able to do that, have no idea. The files in its bin folder either way.

Only way I could get a semi decent card was one that had been returned and repaired from RMA, was half it's original price but still felt expensive -_-
Tough times.

Steam Play Proton 6.3-7 is out now, Proton Experimental gets DLSS for DX12 games on Linux

Runs good with Cyberpunk 2077, it's now playable, with stable fps without weird hitching.
Get weird audio when shooting, might just be my setup, will give it a go with the old pulse audio work around.

MW5:Mercs works good, need to edit GameUserSettings.ini :- DLSSQuality=(assuming 0-3) put mine on 2
Can play with maximum everything and extreme weather, ash all the nice stuff.
Haven't tried it with ray tracing but that needs VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr to work .
I should really disable, the video card spoof, dlss might appear running me5 with vkd3d. will give it a shot anyway.
edit: aright DXVK_CONFIG_FILE="where ever you put your dxvk.conf file"
needs to have :- dxgi.nvapiHack = False
In it.
DLSS options will appear under the Display tab NOT the Graphics tab.

Tested with "Mortal Shell" works great :woot:
(Epic Version, through Steam)
Steam version: 'PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1' (sic) is enough.
Non-Steam Game, running inside steam: To do so, you either need to edit it into the user_settings.py file or use "Steam Tinker Launch"

Can add it to your user_settings.py without worry.
youed add it like this. "PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI": "1",
For GE at least.
When available.
So for experimental should be under $HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Proton - Experimental/user_settings.sample.py
add above to it and rename to user_settings.py.
Be warned you may need to make that change each time experimental updates.
(example is with arch, directory structure may be different for your preferred OS)

Quoting: BeamboomHow do we know when to set PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1? Or maybe rather, when should we not do it?You can set it as default, it doesn't seem to have any affect on games that don't use DLSS.
I mean, we all want a better performance when possible, and DLSS sounds like a good idea to enable by default?

Maybe I misinterpreted it, thought it read as they will get the EAC working but wont say its a game that's supported on linux, like no steamplay/linux icon. There for no support for linux users for the game.
No different then it is now just with EAC enabled.
