Was under the impression at least for EAC, it downloads a proprietary file in order to work correctly, per game.

Fortnight installs EAC, loads semi normally. MediaFoundation problems doesn't like the MFpatch, you can start a game, some times get past lobby area always most definitely crashes when you jump out of the party bus.
Maybe they just checked the box and didn't see if it worked properly. (only seemed to work with staging builds of anything)
Its loads in some type of driver as well, if it can't load it's driver d at startup, had to logout of my linux user and log back in again, was doing a hard reset though to be sure. with non-staging the driver would never load.
Gonna wait this one out till next year, have a feeling there is going to be teething problems.

So when it works without having to circumvent anything, to play with all other people.
Edit: Wonder how many developers will choose to tick those boxes and or whatever else they need to do, for it to happen.
Downloading Fortnight just to see if they enabled it on their own product.
DBFZ- no go currently.
Darwin Project - no go currently.

Quoting: slaapliedjeThat Halo collection works flawlessly in Proton, at least when I tested it last. I don't know if they really have much of a choice. If they create something that tries to detect Wine use, the coders will work out a way to hide it...To my understanding, you need to use the none eac executable and only get access to campaign and you need to use a external means to play on none official open servers.

Wonder if Microsoft will show how much they love Linux when Halo:infinite drops... Assuming it uses EAC, pretty sure MC:C did.

Guess we can ask devs "politely" to turn it on, with the games in question, steam discussion forums.
Will more then likely boil down to developer awareness as well.

Lets just hope, Total War: Warhammer 3 still gets a Linux port for those who already purchased the first two.
Guess otherwise that player base will have to run proton for all 3 for the big map.

Have been playing Phantom Brigade, it's reasonably fun but it still has a way to go before it leaves early access most of the work done so far has been combat related. The combat is really good.
Started a new run of The Darkest Dungeon, figure this time i'll get further ahaha.
Was playing Elex for a bit, after 30 hours and still not knowing what I was doing in the game, ended up benching it.
It's a bit rough around the edges, and reasonably hard, great game if your a sucker for punishment.

I hope blizzrd doesn't come after them looks like they pulled models from warcraft/world of warcraft and starcraft then proceeded to mash them up together then tweeked them a tiny bit.
That being said it does look fun, looking forward to giving it a go.
