Bought this a while back, but haven't played it yet, waiting for official release. The first one was brilliant.

A Q1 reboot/remake/whatever would even make me consider pre-ordering!

Quoting: GuestQuake Champions isn't actually all that bad imo, the special abilities are pretty gimicky but still a fun game none the less (albiet still prefer Q3A/QL)Yes to both of those. I enjoy the new game when I'm in a match and the opponents don't use their abilities too much. It still feels like a slight defeat when I kill someone with my ability.
Still would of preffered a reboot of the original Quake though, just the thought of a Q1 reboot makes me drool xD

Why do people keep re-using names of games that only came out a few decades ago? Maximum confusion?

I don't remember where I found this, so apologies if it was in this thread already, but a list of people's results trying out any unsupported games are here:

Quoting: pythoneerHow can I be stealing something if Microsoft offers it for download? I'm basically running a demo version, and if Microsoft wanted to limit this demo further they would have done so (and indeed they did so in the past).Quoting: ArnvidrI've been dual-booting a bit lately, and I just installed Windows from an iso downloaded directly from Microsoft, but just never registered it, and the only thing I've noticed is that I couldn't change my wallpaper. Can't see that within a game no matter what! You're violating the software license from Microsoft by not registering your copy of windows. Its basically "stealing" (like games or movies from the internet you don't pay for). I don't know if there is a more specific term in your jurisdiction but by german law its more or less "Obtaining services by deception"(Section 265a from StGB) or breaking contracts i guess.

Quoting: SuppenMicrosoft have been known to have their software explicitly check if it runs in Wine, and labeling it as a non-genuine windows installation. It was a long time ago, but I guess nothing stops them from doing it againDoes this actually make a difference these days? Is there a difference between non-genuine and non-registered? I've been dual-booting a bit lately, and I just installed Windows from an iso downloaded directly from Microsoft, but just never registered it, and the only thing I've noticed is that I couldn't change my wallpaper. Can't see that within a game no matter what!

I'm slightly confused by this, how can you pull one version from sale if it's still available to install after buying? It seems like, really, the only difference here is that the SteamOS icon is no longer there. The game is still there for linux, but hidden because of lack of QA. Kind of like Arma 3, like someone mentioned, only with even less 'official' support, but it seems like that was always pretty poor anyway.
