I don't think that the stealth genre is something for you ;) Where's the fun in that?

Quoting: mylkai read that, but does it still work on modern PC? and i think i cant buy it anywhere. an updated steam version would be nice
Probably true. I don't see why it shouldn't work any more. Got Railroad Tycoon II running lately again as well. It may be more tricky but should be possible. Afair it uses SDL too. The usual problems are required glib compat lib and probably some X11 compat lib nowadays.

I tried this last in 2008 and wrote this Wiki entry for linuxgaming.de

…also RuneSoft still exists. Mayhap they have some patch somewhere hidden :)
Edith says: Well it still lists Linux but only a patch for OSX Lion: http://www.rune-soft.com/Games/Released/Game-239/game=Robin_Hood_The_Legend_of_Sherwood-13 [External Link]

Quoting: TcheyI really liked Pandora, and if it has obviously lots of similarities, Gladius plays differently. A guy wrote a large list of comparisons on Steam, quite accurate according to me : https://steamcommunity.com/app/489630/discussions/0/1727575977578265427/ [External Link]
Thanks for pointing out. I was afraid that this is 'just' an asset flip but it looks like they really made their homework. I really tried to like Pandora but it drove me nuts on occasion. Especially the diplomacy, the way population grew without control, "just another tier" tech, the upgrade orgy, the late "money is all" game and even the victory conditions (just bunk some bucks and you win??). "Story" is always the same and get's tiresome fast. A lot of wasted potential. IMHO. I played Pandora some time again lately for another chance and it's simply missing the "One more turn..." effect that CIV [and CIV:BE] have in for me. Technical no issues tho. Runs and did always run smooth, zero crashes and light on the resources.

This comparison reads really well for me. So this just ranked a lot higher on my wishlist :D

As a reminder, the updated release from THQ Nordic doesn't just add Linux support. It also adds language support for French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian and English to the main game. It also adds in the lost demo level, with more limited language support.
@Liam: That's not all. I dunno what the original used but the Linux build (and probably other systems as well) links to SDL2. I *assume* it used SDL and I gathered that it was tricky to get it to work on anything over WinXP.

SDL was released 1998.
Desperados was released 2001.
SDL2 was released 2013.

Even when this started out as SDL project porting it to SDL2 was probably quite a task for such an old game. Even to still have the source around is something other companies don't manage (Looking at you here, Interplay!). I remember that the switch from SDL to SDL2 was really something.

Nope. It has a nice learning curve tho. Just the DEMO is really hard.
