Given we're twenty days away from the final release should we not be looking at release candidates rather than entering beta?
Regardless I will be giving it a go on release, although I am tempted to try and give Budgie a go as my daily use DE.

This game looks cool, almost like a post apocalyptic version of Banished (we're still waiting patiently for that Linux port). I won't buy it yet until it is officially supported on Linux as I don't even have a windoze partition to fall back on.
Mad Max shows more signs that it's coming to Linux & SteamOS

I really hope that this comes to Linux, I loved the Mad Max films and this game sounds sooooooooo promising (OK, it may be implemented poorly, but we can stay positive for the moment). The more AAA games that come to the platform the better it is for us as Linux users. The whole chicken and the egg seems to be sorting itself out (although we are still a way off from being at the windoze level): people can't try Linux without installing it themselves (no, now we have Steam Machines), people want AAA titles (some are already here, more are on the way).

I just love the Saints Row franchise, with a sale being on I bought the entire franchise pack. I just hope that the Linux ports continue, but I was more than happy to get Saints Row IV and Gat Out of Hell for £13, if the others come along it will be a complete bargain (I really hope they do as I love both SR 2&3)
Looking forward to testing out the new Steam Controller that Santa will be bringing me tomorrow night, christening it will be Borderlands 2 and Saints Row IV (I never thought I would be saying that a year ago, two of my favourite AAA titles on Linux).

This game looks like Pirate Hell, which was a really fun shooter, but it became boring quickly due to a lack of depth. This game, on the surface, looks to offer a bit more than Pirate Hell offered. I'll wait a while for the bugs to get ironed out and then I'll probably buy it. TBH I've been yearning for a good pirate game since the days of Sid Meier's Pirates, so I'm looking forward to giving this one a go :)

PS on Super Meat Boy, I didn't like it at first, but persist and it really does grow on you (well that was my experience)

Quoting: Segata SanshiroThese sales really aren't so cheap. As I keep saying to the wife, it's only saving money if it is something you need or really want. Keep an eye on games you fancy and then don't buy any others.

I went for Tropico 5 [External Link] (half price). However I am really gutted as I bought Borderlands 2: Game of the Year [External Link] edition about a month ago and paid full whack, now it has 67% off grrrrrrrr!!!!!! But in saying that it has been mega buckets of fun!!! Great to see AAA titles coming to Linux and I hope that they will prove popular enough to convince more developers to fund Linux ports :)
Happy Steam sale shopping everyone :D

Oooooo this looks soooo sweet. I'll need to wait till iIget paid, but iI am definitely going to back this. I mis-spent a lot of my youth on the LucasArts adventures and forthem to ddescribe it as the equivalent of finding an old LucasArts adventurethat yyou didn't know existed and still using the Scumm interface has sold this to me. Not to mention that Monkey Islands 1&2 were among the finest games I ever played.

I think that the big problem here, as has been mentioned by several posters already, is not that Linux game sales are low, rather that this game's sales are low. The fact of the matter is that there are loads of retro games already available on Linux, it is already a niche market and then your talking about a game that has a niche market within a niche market. Sales are always going to be low, regardless of the system that it is ported too.
This also shows that Linux gamers are becoming a bit more frugal with their money, back in the days before the Humble Bundles etc most Linux gamers (myself included) would buy a game simply because it had been ported to Linux, regardless of the quality (I think I own the majority of the LGP boxed games.) But now you have to stand out in a marketplace that isn't crowded, but there are certainly more traders selling their wares than there were previously. I'm into retro gaming personally, I saw this title when it was released, but it didn't appeal to me. It is simply that the game has a limited market and a sign of the times: Linux gamers are now becoming more discerning in their purchases.
