I hope that they can produce a stable client, I have a pile of games on Desura (they at least had a native Linux client long before a Steam port was announced) but the fact that it is sooooo crashy tends to put me off using it much these days. I hope that we can still get the direct installs and are not forced to use the client.
ps Great to see you back posting articles Liam & I loved your blog post, fight the good fight :)

This looks like a cool retro beat em up, I remember many wasted hour (and limited supply of pocket money) being pumped into the Double Dragon machine in the local arcade back in the 80s :)
City-building Game Banished Is Still Being Ported To Linux, Woo

I've read a lot of articles that this game runs very well under wine, however my main concern is that if I purchase it now it will go down as a windoze purchase, reducing the (already possibly small) impact which the Linux release will have. I was about to give up and simply buy it, but now that this post has appeared I'm going to wait. I know that we are a small number compared to the other OSes, however I want to make sure that when I purchase a game I am waving my Linux flag high, so I want my purchase to count as a Linux user.

I've been testing out a variety of mods on Minecraft recently. I've also been playing quite a bit of Pirate Hell too in my spare minutes, I find its a great bit of stress relief and fun (not much depth though).
I'm looking forward to Banished arrive natively on Linux as well as Football Manager 2015.

This is great news, I signed onto here looking to see if Banished runs well in wine and now I find out that a native port will be avialable soon. I'll wait for this to be released on Linux before parting with my hard earned cash :D
