NVIDIA are working towards better support for NVIDIA Optimus on Linux

Quoting: 14I've messed up my display settings multiple times on my laptop that has both an IGP and discrete Nvidia graphics. Thank goodness I had other computers to search the internet for help! I'm afraid to try it again because of those experiences.
I've been there! Distro hopped all over the place trying to make it work consistently. Nvidia-xrun works okay if you don't mind using fluxbox or something basic to run a single game. This guide [External Link] worked the best for me. Somehow I messed it up several times before getting it to work, but lately I made it work on both Manjaro and Kali Linux.

Lol at Gary's response. You made your money, quit your whining. It's cool that they're still supporting the Linux version for now, though. That's more than I expected.

Quoting: EgonautThat's why you don't support that toxic guy Garry and everyone who's working with him.
Meh, he is straight forward, blunt and sarcastic. Toxic isn't really the right word.
Calling Linux (and by that their users) a second class [External Link] isn't toxic? Yeah sure, defend that guy further if you want, I don't.
But he is correct, the Linux version is a second class citizen for them. There is nothing toxic with that, second class citizen in computer speak only means that it's a lower priority, it's not a derogatory term.
Here's an idea: by the dev's admission, only 17 people use Linux. So why not just give us the source code? No one else can be bothered to compile it. Hell, if we give him $240 he'll even get to keep the money from the lost sales!

The real question is: can it run the arcade games in Shenmue/2?

Love the concept. I hope we'll be able to run up debt on our hell-house, go hell-fishing and collect hell-bugs, too!

RUINER is looking good on Linux, official non-beta build due on Monday
14 Apr 2018 at 2:08 am UTC

Quoting: burningserenityThe beta worked fine for me, except for infrequent stuttering that never caused a real problem. The new update installed twice, and now it appears my saves are corrupted. I got an error saying it couldn't connect to the Steam cloud, even though I just finished downloading the update.
I'll try again later, but I almost finished the game so this potentially really sucks!
I did like @nitroflow and reinstalled. My save is thankfully still intact.

I can't see any difference from this update, though, good or bad.

/me raises hand

i wasn't into pc gaming at the time so i missed out, tried replaying it but it's hard if you haven't played it back in the day...have the same issue with the early elder scrolls games.
There is already a mod that grants modern mouselook. The game is totally worth the learning curve, though. It's a weird example of how older technology gave us far more actual gameplay than the vast majority of even great games today.

It's held up way better than the old copy/paste Elder Scrolls.

Unleashed, a dark 2D open-world RPG is fully funded on Kickstarter, check out the demo

For some reason I hate crafting in games. Also, a dark, mature story based on FF and Pokémon? Isn't that an oxymoron?

However, I need more open world 2D games, so hopefully my skepticism is ill-founded.
