They really need to fix Elite Dangerous installation on the standard Proton version.
A shame that a game with such a high demand still depends on a third party Proton version to be playable.

Wow!
Best Linux gaming news since they announced Steam Play with DXVK.
We are witnessing the future of Linux gaming being written.
Very glad that Valve created the SteamOS years back, this chain of events lead to Linux having a Steam client and all other things.

So, would it be better for Linux if every company that wants to release a Linux port would instead help Steam to tweak Steam Play to run the game as smooth as possible?
I believe that could work.
I just feel like the games would always be more unstable/buggy than a proper port, I hope I am wrong.

Quoting: kfAgreed, Optimus still can't switch between GPUs without a system re-log.Quoting: fedotixIt seems far away the day Linus Torvald insulted Nvidia...As a Nvidia user myself, I still feel they are doing the bare minimum just so they can say they support Linux.
We must accept that NVIDIA today is more cooperative with Linux System.

Never used Proton before and don't want to buy win games just for testing.

Game is so expensive right now and publisher is so greedy not even giving a 10 or 20%.
Same for Factorio.
