They really need to fix Elite Dangerous installation on the standard Proton version.

A shame that a game with such a high demand still depends on a third party Proton version to be playable.

Wow!

Best Linux gaming news since they announced Steam Play with DXVK.
We are witnessing the future of Linux gaming being written.

Very glad that Valve created the SteamOS years back, this chain of events lead to Linux having a Steam client and all other things.

Steam Play versus Linux Version, a little performance comparison and more thoughts

So, would it be better for Linux if every company that wants to release a Linux port would instead help Steam to tweak Steam Play to run the game as smooth as possible?

I believe that could work.
I just feel like the games would always be more unstable/buggy than a proper port, I hope I am wrong.

More or less same here.

We might also have the Intel gaming GPU as a choice in the future.

We must accept that NVIDIA today is more cooperative with Linux System.
As a Nvidia user myself, I still feel they are doing the bare minimum just so they can say they support Linux.
Agreed, Optimus still can't switch between GPUs without a system re-log.

Also, when I leave my notebook using only the discrete GPU, sometimes the fan goes like crazy even when computer is idle (doing nothing).

Valve have one more Steam Play update out before the end of 2018 with 3.16-6

Guys, could you recommend some nice free-to-play windows games?

Never used Proton before and don't want to buy win games just for testing.

The Steam Winter Sale is now live, prepare your wallet

Quoting: LeopardSteam Sale is a dissappointment generally. There are so less discounts on games that i'm interested.
I REALLY wanted a discount on RimWorld :(
Game is so expensive right now and publisher is so greedy not even giving a 10 or 20%.

Same for Factorio.
