Agreed - I too am an AMD fanboy, but at least it's Linux preinstalled AND aimed at gaming, which is pretty incredible and fantastic to see! :)

In the past I have tried freebsd, but quickly dropped it.
It looks like you can get steam going, and linux native games, but not much else from a linuxGamer point of view.
I'm sure there are a few here who dabble with it who might chime in.

I missed that distro hop too. I always thought the kubuntu spin the best of the ubuntus / ubunti? distros.

Quoting: 14Kubuntu? I must have missed when you switched off Fedora. That one didn't last too long.

Yes, if only valve would give VR a little love. This has been very disappointing.

Quoting: KROMWell, given that they also haven't fixed the inverted rendering of the Index Controllers on Linux after more than a year... *shrugs*

I might be treating myself to a new card later this year when we get to see the new 'mid-range' radeon cards.
Something in a similar power envelope to my current sapphire rx5700, which was £380 new.
The latest amd offerings look very tasty, but the prices of graphics cards are just incredible now.
Also I am very used to the quietness of my pc and don't want to return to very noisy fans.

It's always a relief when it powers up for the first time.
UEFI can be slow enough to initialize to make you think you have made an expensive mistake
Looks great! will be better when the rx7900 arrives :envious emoji:
