NVIDIA release big new Linux driver with 460.27.04, LunarG Vulkan SDK Ray Tracing ready

I don't think anyone plans to support DLSS in Wine anyway, so it's irrelevant. If you need upscaling, AMD are working on something that will work across all GPUs so that should work in Wine eventually too.

They just released the game, surely it will be buggy (given the size of the game). They'll be fixing bugs for a year or more.

Hopefully spatial audio updates will be added to upstream Wine too.

Quoting: 14Just putting this here. Cyberpunk environmental audio is working now with Proton Experimental!
Just a reminder about the forum thread for discussing not just the release but issues in general:

I didn't really test it extensively yet to notice that.

A lot of them don't have voice. I assume it's because there are so many NPCs that they didn't have enough voice actors.

I tested that patch - no change, likely because it's already GPU bottlenecked. Also, I don't have any trouble with audio.

Quoting: LinuxwarperNIHs? Is that some short for proprietary tech or something?
It means "not invented here". It usually refers to when the someone is making their proprietary tech that messes things up for everyone, instead of getting behind a standard that promotes collaboration for the industry.

I.e. DX12 is Microsoft's NIH, Metal is Apple's. Vulkan is the standard.

Quoting: LinuxwarperHave you watched the HotHardware interview [External Link] with Scott Herkelman and Frank Azor?
Sounds good. That's the right way to do it. Good to see AMD are behind this idea. Nvidia will just keep making NIHs instead.

There is some sane limit you want to chase after. I.e. if they reverse engineer Windows itself - it's one target. If they also have to chase after proprietary APIs of GPU makers - that's a lot more moving targets to chase.
