Quoting: Liam DawePublisher said Windows only.
The game will be published on Windows only. It hasn’t been determined yet if it will support Linux (or Mac).
At least they didn't say they won't make it, but it sounds like a regular non answer. What engine are they going to use? If it's something portable to Linux like with Ion Fury, then it would be a shame if they won't release it.

Quoting: HoriAnd what's the alternative?
AMD is the only competitor and it's way too expensive.
Not sure how you can compare prices for not yet released cards. Regular prices for comparable cards for AMD are actually lower than for Nvidia.

And AMD cards don't really lack any features that I care about.

What is interesting is AV1 support. AMD shouldn't slack with that and should add AV1 to RDNA 2 cards.

Quoting: aokamiThat's quite interesting, could you elaborate on that please ?
dmabuf is a Linux kernel API that allows sharing memory buffers between CPU and GPU:

In order to effectively use hardware video decoding, you need something like that. Open source drivers can use it fine. Nvidia blob can't use it, since it requires GPL compatibility.

Firefox is using dma-buf for hardware video acceleration over VAAPI, which works fine with AMD and Intel (and Nvidia with Nouveau). It doesn't work with the blob.

Oh, an interesting tidbit. Firefox started supporting VAAPI hardware accelerated video decoding both on Wayland and X11 now. But it won't work on Nvidia blob due to it lacking dmabuf support.

I'm waiting for RDNA 2 as well. Even if Nvidia will claim 3x increase in performance, it won't impress me until they'll upstream their drivers.
