Two Worlds II RPG delayed for Linux

Quoting: slaapliedjeEver since Debian added full support for multiarch, Linux really is easy to run 32bit things within a 64bit environment.
Support for multiarch is far from full on Debian. It's progressing, but not all packages are supporting it properly yet. Usually it manifests in system asking to remove corresponding 64-bit packages, when you are trying to install their 32-bit counterparts.

Trying the experimental GCN 1.0 support in AMDGPU

I think the name is more commonly used as amdgpu, not as AMDGPU.

We Happy Few to release on Linux after the full release, not during Early Access

Quoting: m2mg2Basically, maybe it will come out eventually but probably not.
I see no reason for them to cancel it so far.

Quoting: KuromiDont wanna to be a Downer here, bu i strongly doubt there will be Linux release at all.
They said it will be after the release. So far it's not released, so everything else is speculation. So we'll have to wait and see. I agree though, that it's a very bad approach to start testing Linux version post release only.

Quoting: GuestExcept in this case they are not "downgrading code". The code started as 32 bit code. There's no reason to change it because the two mainstream OS's can run 32-bit code without any problems.

I also dont buy claims I've heard from people who say it is "clogging up thier system" having multilib installed. That is just complete nonsense.
No, there is a reason to change it, because dealing with 32-bit is a mess. The only valid reason some don't change it is because it's sometimes hard (especially when some game data relies on bitness and etc.).

IO Interactive retains the rights to HITMAN and becomes fully independent

Quoting: ShmerlI'm interested in whether they'll start releasing their games DRM-free.
That's very unlikely
Why exactly? Since they are independent, they don't need to follow the sick DRM mindset of legacy publishers. Or are you saying they are the same? Early Hitman games are already sold on GOG [External Link].

Me too, but even if IOI decides to release their games on GOG (for example) it doesn’t mean that Feral will follow… They could remove the always-online junk from Hitman though.
That would prove the idea that Feral are DRM inclined, which some here didn't agree with. I guess time will tell.

It all depends on the interest really. VP said, CDPR hired them explicitly to port The Witcher 2 for example. Same with Flying Wild Hog and Shadow Warrior. And if the porting company proposes it first, and gaming studio agrees, it's good all the same. So we'll have to wait and see what IO Interactive will do about this. I'm more interested in whether they'll consider not to be Steam exclusive anymore.

Quoting: liamdaweIt can, but that won't happen often for Linux.
From the previous interview on GOL:

Q: When you want to get porting, do you reach out to developers, or do they reach out to you?
A: Both. I mostly get referrals, but I will reach out to developers of a game I'm a big fan of. That's one of the reasons I decided to start this thing, freedom to chose my work.
It's not so clear though what happens with HB first, and whether they reach out to developers as well, or the other way around. Are they even still doing it? In the early days HB were pushing this work. No idea what's going on today with it.
