Quoting: NelAnyway I checked all their linux games, and all have the same prior warning: " [GAME] is activated with a Steam key..."Thanks for checking. It's a pity, but kind of expected - they don't own those games.

Quoting: NelThey give you a steam key.Ah, a bummer.
Quoting: EikeThere's direct download at least sometimes, it seems: https://www.feralinteractive.com/en/news/280/ [External Link]That sounds better. Are those actual downloads DRM-free though? Or they require some activation and such?

I never bought anything in their store before. Is it DRM-free?

Playing Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl (first playthrough - never played any Stalker games before). In the longer term - still in the middle of Pillars of Eternity.
And to add to the upcoming waiting list: Divinity: Original Sin.

Quoting: PicoboomQuite honestly, I'm at a bit of a loss to imagine how anyone might be able to misconstrue opposition to EA on Steam as meaning opposition to testing unfinished programs,)If you view early access program on Steam for what it really is - providing testing versions for people before the release, then opposing having such program could be mistaken for opposing testing, that's why I said it's not what people are opposing, and explained that the problem is not with testing, but with framing this testing like a release and purchase of a product, while it's really nothing of the sort.

Quoting: ricki42DX11 support or no, until CDPR says that the Witcher 3 port is definitely cancelled I'm not going to buy the Windows version.I won't do it either. Even though I bought Witcher 2 way before it was released on Linux, and finished it in Wine, I won't do the same thing with Witcher 3, because at this point I don't want to reward slowness or failure to make proper Linux releases.

@Kimyrielle: Wine really improved in the recent years. Give it a try. Besides DX11 lacking which is increasingly becoming a blocker for newer games, many games work very well there.
I don't dualboot, and have quite a lot of games that I play in Wine.

Quoting: dtoebeTo all those wondering about dx11 in wine: http://www.pcworld.com/article/2940470/hey-gamers-directx-11-is-coming-to-linux-thanks-to-codeweavers-and-wine.html [External Link]Yeah, they said it would happen towards the end of the year. But it doesn't seem likely. The question is, when will it happen? 2% here for d3dx11 doesn't look very promising: https://www.winehq.org/winapi_stats [External Link]
Basically Crossover will get it first then trickle into wine down the road

Quoting: PicoboomI'm even more flummoxed by those who say they are opposed to the very existence of EA on Steam. What are they afraid of? What are they opposing? Community? Collaboration? Creativity? Choice? That seems unlikely.I don't think anyone is opposed to testing unfinished programs. Concept of alpha and beta testing is an established practice. What people are concerned about, is turning this into a revenue stream, which in practice can lead to lowering quality obligations and diluting the concept of proper releases.

Keep in mind, that developing Linux version of their REDengine can be a long term investment for them, since it can be used in Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher 3 both. So I'm slightly hopeful that they are waiting for Vulkan to come out to use the cutting edge technology.

Quoting: maodzedunI don't think this will happen at all. At this points it's obvious it's gone the way of Mad Max and Batman: Arkham Knight ports. Not really. I contacted them recently, and they said they don't have additional info to what they already said (that they are working on it). Of course, they can easily stop doing it at any time, but so far they didn't say they stopped.
