DXVK expands with Direct3D 10 over Vulkan in Wine, also info on the new Direct3D 9-to-11 project

Quoting: YoRHa-2BI think what Carben meant by "problems" was actually getting banned for playing a game with wine+dxvk. And while I'm not sure about Warframe - there seems to have been some FUD about running it on Wine - Dark Souls 3 really doesn't like being played on Linux and you will get banned when trying any sort of online activity.
Ah yeah, Corben means getting banned ;)
According to this thread [External Link] respectively this follow up thread [External Link], playing Warframe might not be possible using DXVK.

Haven't found any other reports yet, but maybe just because nobody tried it yet. E.g. I found only someone trying the demo of Elite: Dangerous, but I'd be interested in the online game.
Unfortunately most Publishers don't answer these questions, except stating that Linux is not supported at all. So getting an answer from Blizzard was pretty awesome, where they also say Linux/wine is not supported, but at least you'll get only banned for using cheats/bots, not just for using the DXVK dll files.

edit: oh, seems like Frontier Development also has no problems using DXVK according to this chat [External Link].

Is there a list of games, where people reported they got problems using DXVK?
I found on the net that Blizzard won't give you problems playing Overwatch using DXVK, but e.g. Warframe and Dark Souls 3 should be avoided.

SC Controller, incredibly useful UI/Driver for the Steam Controller has a new release

This is an awesome tool for the Steam Controller. It helped me getting starting with all the various settings of the Steam Controller. Of course it's also possible to use the big picture mode of Steam, but this tools makes it much more easy to fiddle around.

Everybody who thinks the Steam Controller is hard to setup, try this tool instead of Steam's Big Picture mode.

The Linux version of Into the Breach is in active development
9 Aug 2018 at 9:19 pm UTC

Oh yes, waiting patiently for this game since they said, they'll create a Linux version, but after the initial release, as it was pretty tough with FTL for the small team to release on all platforms simultaniously.

Nevertheless... on the one hand we can be lucky to get great titles like this for our platform. On the other hand though, we mostly have to hope and to wait. Sometimes even years. I hope there will be a time in the near future, where we don't have to hope for a Linux version and get it on day 1 for every new game. Meanwhile we have to actively contact devs and publishers and show them there is a demand to have their game on our favorite operating system.

Looking forward to play Into the Breach natively on Linux soon!

SpaceBourne might see a Linux version, according to demand after release

Quoting: melkemindIt would be nice if these companies that want to see "demand" would actually do market research rather than just waiting to see how many people post on an isolated forum thread that many users may never even see.
It incurs additional cost. So the best way to start considering even if the market research for a port would be appropriate is a scenario with no cost that could supposedly could give a good enough approximation of the results.
Yeah, though DBK Games literally is a company, it's an indie studio with just a few employees.

Also as an update, the dev is going to try to create a Linux version before release:

Thank you all for your interest : ) Before relese i will work on a Linux build. But i have to say; I have never build a game for Linux before but i will try to do my best :)
Would be pretty cool if that works out well.

A developer from Bohemia Interactive wants to know your interest in the Arma 3 Linux port

Yes, please give the Linux port more attention. If it's en par with the Windows version, I'd probably play it more.

Haven't played any card game yet... so I'll give this one a shot.
Nevertheless, I'm looking more forward to the other games Valve has in its pipeline :->
Especially the VR ones, which I hope get Linux support too.

Prepare a glass for some more Wine as DXVK 0.62 is out with possible performance improvements
14 Jul 2018 at 2:50 pm UTC

Is DXVK meanwhile safe to use? I'd really like to give it a shot, but I'm still afraid of getting (VAC) banned.

To those who are playing games with DXVK, which games do you play, how often and how long is your session and did you experience any problems so far?

With having Unreal Engine 4.20 also getting Vulkan on Linux in the editor, I hope gamedevs will give it more often a shot:
