Feral Interactive have released a new teaser for a Linux & Mac port to come
7 April 2017 at 4:14 pm UTC

Unfortunately it looks like the porting companies have chosen not to add Linux depots on steam too early anymore.
Before we could make good guesses from steamdb's information, but now... too bad ;)

If it would be Nier:Automata... I guess I would instantly buy it. I've heard so many good stories about this game, like its high replay value with different endings and already different starts. I was already guessing that it might come to Linux, as Square Enix started to be quite Linux friendly.

Also Feral started to increase the difficulty to solve their radar riddles pretty much, probably as the community was too quick in resolving them :D
I hope a release it not too far in the future.

EVERSPACE still dealing with Unreal Engine bugs, possible workaround found for Linux

Quoting: EhvisWhat surprises me is that they have a Mac version available.
If I'm right they're using Metal on macOS and not OpenGL. They also stated it's the same issue on Windows with OpenGL, so it's not OS depenend. But as they're not using OpenGL on macOS we don't really know.

EVERSPACE still dealing with Unreal Engine bugs, possible workaround found for Linux

Oh yeah! \o/ This is so good news!
Having this issue fixed by a workaround is much better than having no game at all.
The Linux backers have been longing for Everspace since they announced to have a Linux version playable since beta. As we know this didn't work out due to this issue.
Maybe they could have gotten this workaround some months sooner, if they would have communicated this bug earlier to the community, but I won't complain.
I hope this example also shows to other devs that the Linux community is not only loud when asking for a game on their favorite OS, but also happy to help. Just give them the chance to help out ;)

Mad Max meets Vulkan in a new fully public beta for Linux, benchmarks and OpenGL vs Vulkan comparisons

Am I right and this is a Linux exclusive? Like, there is no Vulkan version of Mad Max on Windows?

Point & click horror game STASIS now has a new Linux Beta

Well... it's not really "now" as the passworded Linux beta branch is already available since may 2016 :)
It just got updated to the 2nd beta though. Here is the dialogue issue fixed, but it still seems to have some issues, like a segfault near the end.

Interview with Feral Interactive about their ports and Mesa drivers, Steam keys offered for Mesa developers

Interesting interview. I already loved Feral for porting Alien: Isolation, but it's getting better and better.
I'm glad it seems that Feral is doing well and hope the Linux porting business will grow further!
A small hint about what their next awesome port is would be interesting :-> The unknown feral objects radar isn't picking something up with a Linux icon recently ;)

Star Citizen to use Vulkan instead of DirectX 12 and drop DirectX 11 eventually
19 March 2017 at 10:22 pm UTC

Quoting: EhvisThey also support Mac (at list with Elite dangerous), which would be a bit of a problem.
I'm not sure, as on Windows they're not using OpenGL as on macOS, but DX11.
But even though their Cobra engine can render in OpenGL, they're not support Linux.

Probably it's just a matter of time, when Elite: Dangerous will be playable in Linux through wine. Either they switch on Windows to Vulkan, or wine supports DX11 good enough to play. Probably the later will happen ;)

If also Frontier Developments would switch to Vulkan with Elite: Dangerous... :)

You can grab Alien Isolation the full collection from Humble Store super cheap right now

Though I'm repeating myself :)
This is the best Alien game available on Linux.
I still haven't played through the DLCs yet, but I finished the main campaign and enjoyed it very very much.
I hope there'll be a sequel as the ending suggests one.
This game is also a perfect candidate for streaming :D
Let yourself get sucked into the dense atmosphere and you'll have one of the best gaming experiences out there.

Wine 2.4 released, more Direct3D command stream work towards better performance

Oh, cool a bugfix for AvP ;)
This game and its server are running very well with wine, the game got a platinum rating on winehq (for the DX9 version).
The server could be run headless with xvfb.
I've had a lot of fun playing multiplayer with friends in wine and we still play it from time to time.

Just a small question, is there a ppa for the recent stable version of wine (2.0 or above), or is the ppa:wine/wine-builds the one to go for?
As the ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa I've been using before doesn't have a amd64/i386 build for 2.0, and I didn't want to switch to -staging or -devel yet.
