Apologies for very negative opinion...
Why on earth I should paid a franchise game for full price every year just for some updates? I played FM12/13 before in cyber cafe and played FM17 which bought legally last year to show my "Linux gamer support". Nothing much difference between both games IMO.
Sega/SI should abandoned yearly game launching and adopt base game + battle/season pass - style for FM. Like USD30 for base game and USD 15-20 for latest new season team squads. Paying full price for PC games franchise yearly plus with PC gaming gone all digital aren't feasible and/or justify anymore.
Yes, It's sad to see a franchise usually comes on Linux no longer available. But in this case, I'm not missed it much. Sega have superb track record on Linux gaming. So, I'm not afraid on "Sega will abandoning Linux" rhetoric.
Note: Not a football fan and terrible FM player but almost all my friends are football fans.. So yeah, go with the flow.

Quoting: BeamboomAs far as I remember, Microsoft give an excused that PS3 was system than X360 so cross platforms were hard/impossible, plus MS accused PS Network was unsafe/unsecure. "Coincidencely" PSN was being hacked and credit card was stolen.Quoting: GuestJoke aside, it's a pity that Sony use his position to block a real cross-online multiplayer.Yeah that is unfortunate, the platform competition is fierce and not very user friendly. It's worth noting that Microsoft did the same towards Sony though, back when they were on top (the PS3/x360 era). Back then Sony were the underdog, now it's Microsoft.
When you have family/friends that have PS4 or One and a game is available with cross-online play.. can't play with all but you can play with both. Really a shame. "For the Players", what a sick joke..

Quoting: mortigarUnderstood. BR is free... Mission + cosmetic + battle pass needs to pay. Thank you all.Quoting: tonRErm... can you people explained to me in simple English? Paid or Free-to-play? Confusing...Simple english. The 100 person multiplayer part of the game is available to everyone for nothing. You can spend money for a battle pass and cosmetic items if you want to, for that game mode.
Then there is the rest of the game, more single player and co-op content. Which if you want to play you need to purchase the "game".

However, they've now announced that the two Battle Royale modes (Battle Royale and Skill Royale) will be free to play, with the other multiplayer modes and the co-op/story mode will be a normal purchase.Erm... can you people explained to me in simple English? Paid or Free-to-play? Confusing...

I think it's time for Valve making first-party + single player game(s) right how. Steam domination advantages starting to diminishing with lots of online game stores offers better product like DRM-Free (GOG, itch.io, etc) and/or ever cheaper subscription service (EA Origin, MS Store, etc).
IMO, Valve starting making u-turns. They know current style Steam won't last for long.
First, regulators currently aim on microtransactions and lootboxes which both are Steam main revenue come from.
Second, God of War 2018 proved almost everyone love ol'skool single player. EA's Star Wars BattleFront II proved that almost everyone hate lootboxes and/or microtransactions on full price games.
It's time for Valve to diversification by going ol'skool way. If... they want to survive.
p/s: Also not forget, Linux-based mobile devices games. They should consider it, as long isn't cocktail license named Android.

I have a Twitter account called rmspostcomments, which I use to log in on other sites to post comments on articles. I never post on Twitter. Someone made an account stallman_feed which I'm told posts something about my political notes. Any other Twitter account that claims to be mine is an impostor.

For some developers eyes (not pointing on Facepunch or anyone), Linux gaming community rank is lower than Windows pirates.
Hell, for some developers (again not pointing on anyone), they rather Linux gamers pirating their Windows games and play on Wine than developing their games to run on Linux natively.
FYI, only significant minority developers act like that (please pirating my games, I don't do Linux). Majority of them love to support Linux, just sometimes some of them (not all) underestimate the Linux difficulties.
Just read Steam community posts or send private e-mail to developers. You'll get it.

Quoting: iiari1) Only the Linux community is toxic (eyeroll). Has he been in, well, almost any other Windows gaming forum at all for the sophomoric, hateful, entitled views there? Hahahaha....Based on my own experience, this is my conclusion...

Genuine question, I know Unity engine reputation never had being better but...
Why Unity reputation are getting worse since in the last 2-3 months?
I'm talking about the whole (outside Linux) gaming community in general.

Quoting: dpanterThere's no Linux motorcycle-related games that only focused on motorcycling in general. Road Redemption more like 'arcade fighting' than motorcycling to me. I really hope MXGP3 will be on Linux. Even if they launched it like 'ARMA 3-style' Linux beta, I will buy it..Quoting: tonRStill waiting (and hoping) MXGP3 will be on Linux eventually.Yeah! Do we even have a motocross game similar to this on Linux? Not counting small 2D games like X-Moto or the seemingly broken promises like MX Nitro.

Off-topic.
Yes, you as Linux gamers can be outrage and furious but being abusive and insulting-counter insulting is not best solution either.
And for developers... Eugene H. Krabs once said,

So, take care of your 'money' well. Money isn't everything but losing money means you'll losing everything. That's what I learned being employee of small business.

Quoting: noxDamn.... My bad. Well, I'm rarely into FPS nowadays so I'm probably unaware. Only watched on GoL & other Linux gamers streams occasionally.Quoting: tonRBTW, no pre-order and no early access. Always buy when it's available. That's what I learned after gaming on Linux.Rust left early access at the start of this year and has had linux support for way longer, so whatever you are trying to say here doesn't apply.
