But, I'm buying on itch.io if the games really interesting to me such as Slipstream, Tacoma etc., at full price!

Quoting: PatolaYou know, I would really really like to support itch because I think it's THE BEST appstore with its monetization and free policies. But it's very difficult, and these sales clearly show why - I end up swallowing the DRM-infested versions of steam games because their prices are much cheaper (regional prices for Brazil) and their sales much much better.Same story as me in Malaysia. For example, 'The Signal from Tölva' regular price here is RM 38.00 or USD 9.49 or R$ 35.57. GoL readers from developing countries had no choices other than buying cheap that comes with DRM.

Good news for FOSS community regardless what your favourite CPU/GPU maker. Love them of hate them, Intel have superb track record on open source drivers/software and is VERY HUGE in everthing semiconductors.
Intel is dominated on server market. Almost all server in this world using open source system. So, I'm 100% sure Intel will ensure all their GPUs will be run on open source platform by provide necessary code, driver, etc., so it's also good news for *BSD too which know have dreadful GPU support AFAIK. Which means AMD (and possibly nVidia) will also doing same to compete with Intel. I hope....
One particular thing is very interesting for me. Intel plan to released it in 2020. Windows 7 EOL is 2020.
Hmm......
p/s: I hope Intel and AMD working together to make x86 chipset for mobile devices/smartphones. I'm totally dislike all ARM chipmakers' doing/done right now!

I'm fine with it as long the page NOT being myspace-fied.
itch.io -style game page is most perfect IMO.

If you do not mind, would you or anyone here pointed which section, para, number, etc., the requirement of rule is? You know, as our general knowledge on Linux gaming.
Thank You.

Quoting: MarcselloI hope that they finally removing the "game must run on windows" rule. And we can see some linux exclusives on Steam. My acquaintance (friend of friend) also tell me same thing but I still not find that in Valve's ToS/EULA (not big fan reading legal text).

Steam should change from "store" to "bazaar". Let's be honest, it is the de facto bazaar right now. Every games are on Steam.
Little bit ADD: Also, Valve should also remain neutral consistently. Anything or nothing and also anyone or no one.

I just finished wandering around pro- 'fruit' websites that i know. Here are 'the fruiters' reactions on deprecated of OpenGL...
(I'm super heavy modified it for many obvious reasons)
Negative
- iOS on Mac, who want that.
- Most workspace software use OpenGL, the developers will simply abandoned instead developing Metal version.
- OpenGL up to date but 'the fruit' always stuck it at 4.1 for obvious reasons. Fruit style!
- 'The Fruit' destroying will of developers by destroying cross platform API
- Mojave... that's a reason for that name?
- OpenGL used beyond gaming. STEM sector heavily rely on OpenGL.
Positive + salty
- Great, you don't want my money devs.
- iOS!! iOS!! iOS!! Lazy devs!!
- iOS!! iOS!! iOS!! Metal is future!! OpenGL and DX need to terminated!!
- iOS!! iOS!! iOS!! Close source everything from GPU to CPU so devs won't come here!!
- Metal is superior. MS should use it. DX is obseleted!
- Feral is ours! Aspyr is ours! We don't need small time arrogant devs!
- If Metal sucks blame devs. if Metal good praise 'the fruit'.
- Walled garden is more secure.
Well don't take my word for it. Search for yourselves people and read it with open mind.

With PC platform, if Win OS is out-of-dated, I can install any Linux distros to replaced it.
On Android phones for example, I can flash it latest Android but only for certain devices (mainly Qualcomm and Exynos) no thanks to 'cocktail license'. Some manufacturer interpreting 'cocktail license' whatever they like and manipulated it according to them.
I'm not looking for argument, just want to state the fact happens currently. I do hope future on mobile devices will be better. Hopefully :'(
p/s: If you people (GoL readers) notice I always said about "GPL-Violator ARM Chipmaker" without naming who tf is them. Actually, I do not want me (anybody here) to get sued by them. But let me link XDA-Developers article [External Link] here. You'll know the clue.

Quoting: Mountain ManI've heard it said that the personal computer being an open platform was purely an accident partly because IBM didn't recognize the importance of controlling the software market, and partly because Bill Gates screwed them when he pulled out of OS/2 and released Windows 95 a short time later. Numerous companies have been attempting to "fix" that miscalculation ever since because an open platform is a threat to any company that wants to control their customers' spending habits, which is pretty much every tech company in existence today.Yes and if IBM 'acting smart' in that time, I don't think Linux will be flourish and will disregard as 'socialism niche' thing (as Windows fans said, before 10 was launched).
Quoting: GustyGhostOpen(ish)) platforms are a fluke of history. If the tech giants could go back and do it all over again, their platforms would be full-on lock down and lock in from day one.Which is now currently happen with mobile devices/smartphone. Even majority of Android phones, rooting is so painful.
