Windows 10 S might alarm Valve into boosting SteamOS again
5 Feb 2018 at 8:35 pm UTC

If y'all following the Microsoft news since Vista / Games for Windows for more than 10 years ago (I do), this S-mode locking down thing will be happen eventually. No need to comment much.

I am giving full attention on Sea of Thieves success (or failure) in many sides (sales, popularity etc). IMO, that's where MS direction going on next.

EDIT: Little bit to add

History shows that Sony will becoming "pro-consumer" if their cash cow is/was threaten. I'll never surprise if PS4 Remote Play will be on Linux (or FreeBSD) in the future.

The developers of fan-made Halo game 'Project Contingency' have decided not to support Linux

Sounds like they already got "that funding". Wait till they make the "that U-thingy" and make it as only can buy on "that exclusive pseudo-open platform".

It is same old "F-antastic" stories people, don't y'all smells it?

Quoting: tonRIf GoG is "near perfect" as some people says why don't CD Projekt show us their faith by making their games as GoG exclusively only?
Because it's a disgusting approach which disrespects users. Think about it yourself. Exclusivity means you exclude some potential customers on purpose. It's quite good CDPR aren't doing it for their major releases. Their Gwent is GOG only as far as I know.

Exclusivity is no good for anybody. In fact, I would not wish for any game to be exclusive to an OS or storefront regardless of whether or not I personally use it. I fail to see how making the Witcher exclusive to GOG would make it a better platform.
Damn I should read my comment before post it. I mean timed exclusive, 6 month GoG exclusive then launch it on other client store afterwards. For me that is the great way to promote your store. And yes, total exclusive (like PSN) does not making gaming industry any better.

FYI, I really dislike EA Origin for many reasons. I'll never write Origin without EA at front.

I need to edit my previous comment.

If that really happen, I keep playing open source games only. No more pirating.

VERY Unpopular opinion on GOG:

I am very skeptical GoG can/will fill the Steam gap if Valve (or anyone or any "force of nature" ) shut it down. We might see gamers split to buying at several shops elsewhere (including the return of physical copy maybe) which comfortable to them buy and not burning their pocket.

Steam have regional pricing with local currencies means cheaper and affordable games (one of factors I'm no longer a pirates); and most importantly very easy to making payment (now you can pay for Steam games with Celcom/Maxis/DiGi* in Malaysia), something I cannot see that will happen on GoG right now.

And my biggest doubt: If GoG is "near perfect" as some people says why don't CD Projekt show us their faith by making their games as GoG exclusively only or **at least timed exclusive**? Why need to put their games anywhere even on EA Origin [External Link]? **(I really dislike EA Origin)**

Lastly, GoG Galaxy on Linux. :( :S:

This is my point of view of my skeptical-ness on GoG. If you offended, apologize. If you think I wrong or inaccurate, please enlighten me.

Realistic racing game 'DRAG' coming to Linux soon, built on Linux and it looks astonishing

Quoting: ThorstenFolkersHi guys,

thanks for the feedback!

DRAG is not in development since 15 years. We were working regular jobs back then and the engine was a private side project. We are working fulltime on this game since 12 and 20 months.

The release date will be March to April depending on what we will have to polish further.
February was probably miscommunication!

There will be a release discount for the first week!

Looking forward racing you guys soon! :)

Thorsten
Thank you for supporting Linux platform. Especially driving/racing genre which very lacking for Linux in my opinion. No need to rush, take as many time as possible to polish further. If you guys need help or tester, just ask it here.

Again, Thank You! :D:D:D

BATTLETECH will only be coming to Linux post-launch, along with other features

Don't want to make ANY SPECULATION here.

My heart always keeps saying if something like this happen means that "the someone" had approaches the developers. No need to say who or what or why. Most GOL readers know and past history shows.

Again, no speculation

EDIT: Silly spelling mistake. :D

The 'GPD Win 2' could be an interesting device for Linux gaming on the go

Great device but the original price USD 899 (RM 3549 ~ as 15/1/2018 excluding GST, Excise etc.), that is almost twice of the salary for fresh grad in Malaysia!

p/s: But still cheaper (and probably better) than iPhone X.

Epic Car Factory looks like a sweet simulation game, releasing for Linux next month
15 Jan 2018 at 6:34 pm UTC

I'm already pre-order it and totally hype for this game. Linux still lack of "wheels"- type related games.
Hopefully Epic Dev (the developer) make it slow and steady instead of chasing deadline.

EDIT: "Wheels" = motor vehicle.
