ScummVM adds support for Myst in their daily builds

Quoting: LightkeyThis gets a news for ScummVM but not version 1.8.0 with eight new engines earlier this month?

Edit: Would also have been a good opportunity to mention their participation in this year's Google Summer of Code, students come apply! Only other game project I saw was Terasology.
Keep in mind that we write about things that we find interesting/useful. Like I mentioned in the article, I practically never use ScummVM and thus I also don't keep up with ScummVM related news. However, we do have the Contact Us page for news tips and anyone can submit their own articles, so if something is sorely missing and should be covered you know what to do.

Looks like Shadow of Mordor has bad graphical bugs with Nvidia 364.12
28 Mar 2016 at 5:01 pm UTC

Funnily enough Shadow of Mordor renders just fine on my R7 370 with open source drivers. Everything is on as low as it goes and I had to override some missing GL spec but I definitely see more than just the head.

You do know that Feral and Co do indeed read the GOL articles (and comments related to their products)? :)
They probably also read our Twitter PMs and emails that we send them.

An interview with The Final Station developers

I also didn't like that identity politics question because in my opinion it sort of drove the developer into a corner. Seriously, how do you answer that question honestly without causing at least a small PR disaster? If you say you don't have plans then some people will spin a racism story because your game isn't diverse enough. I only see one way to answer the question and that is to say "yes" which in my eyes makes you obliged to then increase the diversity even if it's not part of your original vision. And if a question can only be answered in a certain way, what's the point of asking?

Vulkan 1.0 specification and SDK have been released

Quoting: wolfyrionI wonder how long it will take for some distros to implement Vulkan API... :|
They don't need to. They just have to ship drivers with Vulkan support built into them.

The Vulkan renderer for Talos Principle isn't on Linux yet. Hopefully that will arrive soon.

Quoting: nocriNice! Now ... where are the drivers ?? :)
Nvidia has some but they are of no use basically as there are no Linux games using Vulkan. The Talos Principle version with the Vulkan driver should hopefully arrive soon. Anyway, here's the Nvidia page for the Vulkan drivers and stuff: http://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2016/02/16/vulkan-graphics-api/ [External Link]

Medieval II: Total War Collection released for Linux & SteamOS
14 Feb 2016 at 8:50 pm UTC

Quoting: jerome36Hello. I've just bought the game on steam and it doesn't work at all. In fact it doesn't launch (neither medieval 2 or kingdoms). I just see the very first screen and so go back to the desktop.
I have linux mint kde 17.1 with an intel i5 3570 (with intel GPU inside) and 8go DDR3 and a SSD 250 go?
Has anyone had the same problem? Is it possible toi fix it? Thanks for your help!
Linux Mint 17 has too Intel drivers to work with this game. Either upgrade to a newer Linux distribution or use a PPA like oibaf to get newer Mesa. The game requires Mesa 11.2 minimum. Also, it might still perform poorly or not at all as the minimum recommended is Intel Iris Pro and your i5 only has Intel HD Graphics 2500.
