The question is how can we keep the almost monopoly of Steam in check and balance it out?
I buy my games only on Steam if there is no other option.

Geforce below 20xx series and amd below 480 are stuck on 1.1.
I happen to have both Geforce 980 and AMD RX 480.
Don't count us out just yet^^
It is not like wine OpenGL would deliver a bad performance for such old games though.
This is more academic, theoretical, proof of concept.
Not having it breaks nothing.

The avalanche is building very slowly it seems.
Wish it would be faster, but i have no idea if it is just the BF6 community that can't switch or if there is another big obstacle to solve.

What ton of Features so we get from Play it that we can't get from heroic and RetroArch?
Usually people tell me that they find too many settings confusinf and want a turn key solution

I see a large overlap between that and Lutris.
Not sure if there is enough difference to be worth the effort instead of joining up with the existing projects.

Anti-cheat will still be one of the biggest problems for the new Steam Machine

Keyboard whitelisting is weird, you can claim to be any device of you control the device. Gadgets like rubberducky wont be more than a generic cherry keyboard.

Have it simple and then offer the option to built fancy stuff on top of it for those that want to invest more time.

I still hope for a way to split an ultrawide screen in two virtual monitors so i can have a game in 16:9 on the left side and chat on the right side.
Right now having custom regions and boxes with shortcuts and scripts that resize and move them feels too complex.
