I'm away from my gaming hardware at the moment, but didnt Skald have an integrated 'report the typo' option in the game? Maybe an API helps, but I just see a windows-only thing that will eventually break or not work well on linux. Pass.

I have played some of these on the deck before this update and I thought they were working well then. I picked a couple up to check out what I had missed as a kid. I reccomend trying the frebie and see if this is for you. The'yre indivdually pretty cheap if you see one you think you might like.

A gain of about 1% over about 4 years? In 200 years linux will be the majority OS! Happy to see the consistent increase and higher share than Mac.

Prime Gaming January 11th 2025 edition round-up for Linux / SteamOS and Steam Deck

I have picked up a bunch of decent, or even great, GOG games in the past 9 months since I learned about gaming.amazon.com. With my membership expiring in a couple of days (we turn it on and off strategically), I'll have to settle for Bioshock 2 as a pretty decent parting gift.

Thanks, Liam for posting about freebies!

Looks cool. I hadnt heard of it either. I didnt see where they call out linux support, is 'Off' a snes rom that they'll bundle with an emulator, or a standalone executable? Either way I'd expect the windows version to be playable through wine/proton.

Firaxis reveal Sid Meier's Civilization VII system requirements for Linux

To Eldaking's point about playing on integrated graphics, I agree and used to play Civ 5 on 'boardgame' mode where it was 2d and was clearer for me to play. Unciv has been a joy; i think i prefer lower-power graphics, i dont usually like to stress my systems. Anyway, the minimum requirements state a GTX 1060, which an integrated Radeon 890M should be about equivalent or slightly better. So we may not have many options now, but if they keep these minimums for ten years we'll be able to buy used laptops to play Civ 7 on! Now if i could just get the game on GOG or on DVDs.

Their Ampere Arm desktops are intriguing. 64 cores up to 128. I wonder how well they play games.

SKALD: Against the Black Priory gets controller support and Steam Deck Verified

This update and the sale on steam tempted me into buying it. Ive spent a couple hours on it so far and like it. The light shaders over the c64 pallet look good. There are about 7 different CRT filters or none if you prefer. Runs great on the steamdeck and desktop. On the deck, I only changed the right trackpad control to 'as joystick'. Good story so far, keeping me interested. The game sychs saves via steam which has made playing on deck and switching to a desktop or laptop seamless.
