Quoting: MyeulCI remember that, but it was by definition against Steams policy, so I never tried it. Unfortunately, such support would have to come from Valve.Quoting: manero666It would be great if Steam could give us the ability to launch wine games through the Linux Client, without switching between clients every time.IIRC, there was some discussion about making a library that would allow windows games to communicate with native steam, but I don't know its status, nor do I remember its name.

Oh look! It's Michael Biehn! Glad to see his likeness on a non MGS or FarCry game ;)
BUTCHER from Transhuman Design releases with day-1 Linux support, it's brutal

Personally (though I haven't yet released any games), it's because I will always miss my Amiga.

Quoting: HohlraumCurious what other people's thoughts on how such a disproportionate number of indie games go the retro graphics route. [...]I think it's a combination of an honest love of the art style (rose-tinted or not), a higher focus on game mechanics and the fact that it's quite a bit more difficult to compete with AAA games if one chooses a more photo-realistic style instead.

Shadow Warrior 2 may not come to Linux after all, it's getting a bit confusing

I would imagine messing with consumers like this can have serious implications for the viability of a game's marketing, so I hope there are at least some repercussions within companies when developers/artists/tech support people say these kind of things to press.
It's pretty frustrating; I mean, if a developer or level designer on, say, the next Titanfall came out and said that they don't think the game is coming to the PS4 even though it's been announced, I'm sure heads would roll - I wish the Linux audience would get the same respect.

Still looks gor(e)geous, I just hope my Quake skill-set will at least apply partially - I'm not great at overly hard platformers :/

Those are FPS numbers to celebrate! I don't mind at all having lower average FPS, if it means no drops to 14-20FPS as Windows does here.
Great job, Feral!

Despite the missing Linux icon, this installs and runs beautifully on my GTX 970 powered Ubuntu machine. There's an HRTF toggle in the options that will crash the game immediately, but that may have to do with my 5.1 setup.
Addictive, atmospheric and damn hard. Highly recommended.
I think it was Rock, Paper, Shotgun that described it as "a Quake fever dream", a sentiment I can only agree with :D

I will definitely be picking this up when it arrives for Linux! I loved Human Revolution and its DLC The Missing Link (both play near-perfectly in Wine) so I'm very much looking forward to continuing the story.

Quoting: skinnyrafYou mean the third game, don't you? :PQuoting: BeamboomThis game fetched a rock solid metascore of 85% with the (real) reviewers saying this gamer corrects the wrongs of the first game (especially the abysmal boss fights). You mean the wrongs of the second game, don't you? :) [...]

Ooh, and they even got 90's era not-Rob-Zombie to cooperate on the music! ;)
Jokes aside this looks like it could be a lot of fun. Most of the space shooters we currently have on Linux tend to get dull very quickly (not you, Freespace, you're a beaut), so I'll be happy to have another one.
