Humble Indie Bundle 16 launches, great selection with Sunless Sea now officially on Linux

Quoting: Nyamiou[...] If you look only at HiB that we know have Linux games in them you see also that Linux users always pay more than other users (especially Windows users) and that they represent 5% of the market. So why are we still at 1% on Steam is a mystery to me [...]

That would probably be because the Steam numbers are based on a (skewed) survey, not an actual measurement. I guess this means that HiB is our most accurate number for now?

Quoting: dubigrasuI have some promising results with this new driver, as in Vulkan is already faster: [...]

That was the Talos Principle benchmark BTW.
Considering that Talos isn't event optimised yet, but basically just running on a wrapper, that's quite impressive!

Stainless Games announce another Carmageddon game, Linux & Mac gamers not happy

Easy on the crowdfunding boycott, folks! Even though I've been bitten by a few projects on KS, there are many others I wouldn't have had the pleasure on playing on Linux, if it hadn't been for KS. For every Carmageddon out there, there's a Wasteland 2, Satellite Reign, Fran Bow, Shadowrun Returns, Dropsy, The Deer God, Neverending Nightmares, Sunset, Warlocks, Zenzizenzic, Dex or FTL; all of which are games I've had the pleasure of getting, and following the development of, through Kickstarter!

Yay, I got quoted! Less yay for the subject. At least, it's nice to see a whole page full of comments requesting the Linux version; we've been a fairly quiet bunch up until now. Hopefully, this will be enough of a kick that they actually either give an honest statement, refunds or release the damn port.

Master of Orion reveals an awesome voice cast, can't wait to have it on Linux

Quoting: drmothI don't particularly like Mark Hamill as an actor, but he's seem really great as a voice actor, impressed.
Oh, he's a fantastic voice actor! Surely you know his performance as The Joker in Batman: The Animated Series (and its films) and the Arkham games.

DoubleFine seem to have attracted a bit of a mess with Psychonauts 2 funding

Quoting: Caldazar[...] Problems arise if there's a conflict of interest about which they are not that open. Let's say between you as a citizen investor in Steam and some big money companies. Some small-printed rule that says that Steam isn't actually obliged to give you a game or even produce one in return for your money but might rather pay dividends to bank xy instead if those guys decide to liquidate the whole operation. [...]
Well, that's how crowd funding generally works, nothing new there. Kickstarter even writes the following in the F.A.Q., "Kickstarter does not guarantee projects or investigate a creator's ability to complete their project. On Kickstarter, backers (you!) ultimately decide the validity and worthiness of a project by whether they decide to fund it."
I'd say that Double Fine is more likely to deliver here than on Kickstarter, since the success and public image of Fig is much more closely tied to them.

Got proof? The games are clearly marked as linux compatible, meaning they are at least intending to market to us.
They are indeed Linux compatible, but the keys themselves are registered as Windows sales. More info in a previous article.
No you are wrong again. [...]
Okay, I was wrong, sorry. I don't see how I was wrong again though?
