DoubleFine seem to have attracted a bit of a mess with Psychonauts 2 funding

That isn't fraud, they just found a way to ask for money that better fits what they need and what they think their audience is interested in. It's a bit like saying that Steam sounds like fraud because Valve is selling their own games on it.
If you think it sounds risky, you're have every right to not give them money, but they aren't doing anything shady or secret.

Quoting: CaldazarBut that information is right there on the front page of Fig! It was literally the first thing I saw when I checked the funding campaign: "Oh Fig, that's new; what's that? Ah, it's from some of the Double Fine guys and they're cooperating, cool."Quoting: neffoThe video calls DoubleFine frauds. I think you are blaming the wrong person for the hyperbole! The video claims that there is a questionable relationship between Double Fine and Fig who themselves allegedly operate in a grey area. If those claims hold any water, then yes, it's within my definition of fraud. [...]

Quoting: SkullyThey are indeed Linux compatible, but the keys themselves are registered as Windows sales. More info in a previous article.Quoting: BOYSSSSSI avoid buying from Bundle Stars, because it counts as a Windows purchase.Got proof? The games are clearly marked as linux compatible, meaning they are at least intending to market to us.

I don't see anything in the video that shouldn't have been immediately obvious from the campaign itself and common logic. It's crowd funding; you're donating to the development of a product that may or may not live up to your expectations and may not even ever be finished. Nothing new here.
Regarding Double Fine's previous two funding rounds, Broken Age eventually came out and despite not being the greatest game ever, if one could wait a bit before playing the first part, it was quite an enjoyable experience overall. The documentary that was part of the deal was also consistently excellent and definitely worth the cost of backing in itself.
Space Base was a mess, but I still got about the same amounts of actual fun out of it as I have with most other games, so I don't personally consider it a complete failure. It's also still being developed further by community members / Derelict Games [External Link] and a patch was released October 2015. JP LeBreton, who was in charge of the game, is also no longer with Double Fine, so that's something to consider.

Sorry to keep derailing the thread, but...
The problem with the terminology, apart from the fact that the current popular usage is plain wrong, is that it's not generally agreed upon. Like I said, some publishers literally mean Linux+Win+Mac when they say "coming for PC" whilst others mean various mixes of the three systems. So, if the term isn't used consistently, why not focus on using it to mean what it actually means?
Also, you say decades, but back in the mid nineties, PC game CDs used to be labelled for IBM PC and then either MS DOS or Windows, they didn't just write "PC". Even in 2000, games would still be labelled "Windows" on the cover, though that is also around the time the "PC CD/DVD" labelling started - likely to compete with the aggressive labelling on PlayStation discs. At that time, it did mostly make sense as Windows was basically the only PC OS with widely released commercial games, but that is no longer the case and to keep writing "PC" to mean Windows is now only confusing for the consumer.
Quoting: adolsonExcept, your comparison is invalid; a facial tissue doesn't stop working on people's noses if it's the wrong brand.Quoting: CybolicThis is what you sound like:Quoting: adolson[...( me correcting the usage of "PC" )...]Yes. When we're dealing with publishers promising games coming to "PC" or "PC platforms" and they sometimes mean Windows-only, sometimes mean Windows+Mac and sometimes mean Windows+SteamOS/Linux then we need to help move away from using this ambiguous term, that really only means IBM-compatible/PC hardware. Maybe we can't fix the language publishers use right now, but we should at least strive to not help propagate the misnomer.
Really? You want to be that guy?
"Hey, can you pass me a Kleenex?"
"I would but this is not Kleenex, this is facial tissue."
"Go fuck yourself."
You're fighting decades of habit that, at the end of the day, means very little and waging this war will get us virtually nowhere. We ought to pick our battles more wisely than arguing pathetically over terminology. Makes us look no better than a pack of whiny grammar nazis.

Steam Controller updated, you can name it, take configs with you, adjust the light & bleep and more

Wine is a bit funky since you have to run the game through Steam for the controller to work and since the games I've tried didn't pick up the game specific mappings (likely an issue with Wine), you have to change the default mapping instead - but it works. Windows should be the same: as long as you're using it with Steam, no problem.

Quoting: ziabiceSo if I had to choose between the XBox 360 controller and the Steam Controller, the latter is actually the best choice? Even if I dual boot or use WINE for some games?I'd pick the Steam Controller unless you're very used to the XBox 360 already. I use my Steam Controller with and in front of my desktop computer all the time, whereas my Logitech F710 (a very nice XB360 style controller) has been gathering dust as I could never get used to it for anything other than platformers.

Quoting: PicoboomPayday 2 was the reason I originally kept a windows partition. I had about 800 hours on my old Xbox 360 version and over 1,000 hours on the PC version. I'm hoping the Linux save files aren't compatible with the PC files. It will give me a good reason to start over from scratch. You mean the Windows version, right? I'm assuming you're still using your PC to run Linux.

Great that it's working! It was such a shame that you couldn't enjoy this awesome controller so I'm glad to hear you can now :) I'll venture a guess and say the python3-autopilot install probably fixed it, as I was having a few issues before I installed it as well (though nothing as bad as you experienced).
