Quoting: MayeulCDo you have followed Valve's recommendations [External Link] for the GPU drivers? And by amdgpu, I assume you mean the kernel module, not the "-PRO" driver?
Yes. Kernel module. Did everything as posted, but added parameter 'radeon.si_support=0 amdgpu.si_support=1' to /etc/default/grub as my 7870 only has experimental support for Vulkan.

If someone has the same gpu and has got things working im all ears though.

7870. All games crash with amdgpu. :(
No Vulkan for me then.

Quoting: silentprocyonI really don't think MS is going to sit still. Even if MS doesn't go the "API copyright" route, nor pursue any legal action, I'm half expecting a MS to launch a big FUD+shill campaign.
There would go the MS <3 Linux. :D

Quake 4 seems to work with controller in big picture. With Max Payne i noticed that going into steam menu in desktop mode gives me no mouse cursor. 7870 with amdgpu SI kernel parameters.

MGS V Ground zeroes did not start.

I don't know why, but i don't really give a f*** about raytracing. I would much rather see more physics used in games and proper gameplay. This looks like new tech that only put's more shine in to turds, that i see as more of a bad thing rather than good.

To me it looks like the devs are very sensitive if they can't handle internet community. Maybe they should grow stronger????

Quoting: ShmerlIt's just a Tegra tablet with some Nintendo DRM mess attached. So once DRM is broken, Linux should be runnable :)
Can we stop all this talk of DRM on just about every topic that's posted? (not pointing the finger, I mean in general)
Scrolling down through the posts only to see DRM being talked about instead of the actual headline, is getting...well, a bit boring and disappointing.
Serious gamer's are not all that bothered about DRM anyway, it's all about playing and enjoying the game, so it's pointless bringing it up all the time.
There is a forum for that kind of topic.
What is a serious gamer? Someone that just wants to make easy money or someone who actually cares about games and gaming?
I think that the latter is actually bothered about DRM.
