The sad case of Trine on Mesa and Linux in 2019

Quoting: Hamish
Quoting: vskyeThat's sad. I have Trine and Trine 2 in my library and have enjoyed them, and was looking forward to trying out the rest of the series.
Just to be clear, Trine 3 does have Linux support at least. I have not played it though due to still having an older graphics card without OpenGL 4 support.
i played 1-3 and 3 does not have workshop support on linux, so it is better to play it with proton anyways

50GB for a weekend... only 3500 players peak in the past 24h
at least they have better reviews now

but what does this have to do with a proton update? the game has already platinum ratings

Proton GE has another new release out with patches for GTA V and lots of updates

I know that it used to work, but I explicitly said currently because it currently doesn't. Regressions do happen.

FWIW the issue affects the Windows version with both vkd3d and dxvk as well, so this isn't a problem with the port, just an ACO bug.
ACO works fine for me. here my benchmark results with and without ACO and gamemode

Extremely good results I would say. Only things that are missing are HBAO+ (as usual) and RTX shadows (but those wouldn't be supported on my GPU anyway).

Note to AMD users: ACO currently causes particles to flicker.
