Ubisoft suggest posting on their forum for Proton support in Rainbow Six Siege

A developer finally takes some kind of action and opens up for some kind of potential support for Linux instead of staying silent. Yet people still moan. GG.

'Windows or Android' of the FOSS world sounds like a bad thing.

I'm now a true convert after using a Vertical Mouse

I've started out with that Anker model as well. It can be bought under different names and is a good starting point, but you get what you pay for. It certainly is some cheap crap. :P

Quoting: kemra102
Quoting: ZlopezI recently got myself Logitech MX Vertical [External Link], because wireless mouse is better fit for my ergonomic solution and it's a really good mouse. It fits my hand almost perfectly and I didn't had any issue with it for the last few months.

And the pain I had in my wrist from using the standard mouse for long times is gone now :-)
I've been using this model Logitech too for the past year or so and I can't imagine going back to a non-vertical mouse.

Also it has a "rubberised" grip so that may help keep it in your hand easier. It certainly helps me, I can grip mine very delicately and I have no problems moving it around etc.
I've been really interested in that Logitech mouse. How is the open source software for it? I saw someone had made something on GitHub some time ago. How long is the cable that comes along with it? You seem pretty happy with it in general? :D

Anybody with that mouse are very welcome to chime in. :)

Looks like Splitgate will be the next 'big thing' FPS supported on Linux

2 hours in and... it's okay. Reminds me a bit of Ballistic Overkill in terms of overall quality. The maps are okay, the UI is a bit meh. Cosmetics... meh. Outside of the portals the gameplay is just standard FPS. Not much to note with the weapons either for me. I'd still take TF2 and Quake over this. Too bad QC was borked with the latest update... One thing I think all these new FPS games need, Quake included, is a map editor and the ability to run your own servers. You need all the leeway you need to compete with other shooters.

Make sure your NVIDIA drivers are up to date, new security issues detailed
21 Apr 2021 at 8:24 am UTC

Quoting: bOrviS7000I just got an update on Debian stable with back ports today too version Nvidia 460.67.
I have been using Debian Stable with NVIDIA drivers for 10+ years, but I'm thinking I may need to switch. Does any one have any comments on Arch over Debian?
I personally love using Arch, easy and convenient, at least in my case. Up to date packages, never had any problems. Pacman is a great package manager, and having AUR at your dispense is great. :) But you'll most like have to sit down and think about what attracts you to Debian, and if you want to leave it behind. Feel free to PM me, if you want to.

That is one huge update. It's a bit staggering to think about the work and balancing that goes into something like that.

If anybody's up for mainly playing Turbo with someone a little more than 100 hours into the game, still trying to get a grip on it, hit with a DM.

Steam Game Festival is now called Steam Next Fest, returning June 16
25 Mar 2021 at 9:42 am UTC

Quoting: RFSharpeI enjoyed the last Steam Festival. I always have liked the "try before you buy" model. Much of the time watching a "trailer" (i.e., advertisement) for a game gives me almost no feel for whether I will enjoy playing a game or not.

I also like the criteria that they have established to determine which developers are eligible. Helps to separate the wheat from the chaff.

I would guess that this means that the Steam Summer Sale will occur shortly this event. I need to start saving my loose change now.
Absolutely unrelated. Your profile picture is amazing. Do you have a link for it? :D
