Quoting: such
Quoting: officerniceI have not bought Sigil II yet, but I really enjoyed the first one. It can also be played with Brutal Doom, which is highly recommended.
Brutal Doom is good to blow off some Steam, but I wouldn't recommend it over DOOM. It's goofy excess vs elegance in design.
Each to their own. I've never really gone back to vanilla. :)

I can't really muster up a tiny bit of enthusiasm. Lots of the old devs are gone, GTA V and RDR2 wasn't really my cup of tea. Main characters seem pretty meh.

Quoting: officerniceJust buy Activision and fix the old CODs and price them properly. That's all I want from Microsoft.
They still want $20 for the original 2003 COD 1, which won't even work correctly on most people's modern systems (unsupported display resolutions, directx and drivers etc.)

That's worthy of mockery.
Exactly my point. World at War's co-op and multiplayer does not work either if you bought it after a certain point, like me. I am actually a bit disappointed by Valve that they are not taking action as something not working is being sold.

Titanfall 2 has a player surge with a huge sale, great on Steam Deck & desktop Linux

I can barely get BF1 to work anymore with that new EA app crap... Although, a major reason is also that DirectX constantly stalls, and closing it does not help. Would be interesting to dip into Titanfall 2, perhaps.

DOOM Eternal removed Denuvo and it plays great on Steam Deck

Quoting: LanzI really wish they'd open source the newer id games. They deserve the opportunity for the legacy of the classics.
That's never going to happen. Carmack was the one behind all that.

That aside, relating to the article, I can't even get 2016 to start up any more. And DirectX is giving me a lot of headaches with multiple games... -.-

New update for Dota 2 might pull me back in, with new reporting and matchmaking

Sounds great... But Dota has the effect to take over when I delve into it. The earlier update expanding the map threw me off a bit too, It's hard to justify re-learning so much of the game. :(
