OW could've been online forever. Just release a map editor and server binaries. What a game it was when it came out...

I don't really follow Mint, but it will always have a special little place for me, as I started my Linux journey there.
Why not go independent instead of relying on Debian? One thing that made me move from Mint was ages old packages.
Miss the old green Mint design, too, instead of the bland and black. :(

Quoting: CyrilWhat are some of the enhancements you really like? :)Quoting: officerniceAs it's mostly subjective I think the best is that you just try it out. :wink:Quoting: CyrilHmmm.. updates. What kind? As exciting it may sound, I also become sceptical if they mess too much with the original game.Quoting: officerniceOhh nice, did not know this existed. Is it better than running the game via Lutris and the community HD upgrade? For me: yes! Because it's not just an HD/graphical upgrade, it has a tons of upgrades of gameplay/interface etc (and it's native!).
Running the original game via Lutris will always be the same, there is no update of it.
Meanwhile VCMI is updated frequently and so is better every day!
Sorry, but I'm in love with this project, do what you want from what I'm saying.
Just try it.
That said, I was not using the HD patch when I was playing the game with Wine, but since some releases of VCMI I only play it through it and didn't launch the Wine version since then.
Even if there are some regressions from time to time (and fixed, like any other software really) in the long term it will be the best way to play Heroes III, IMHO it's already the case as I personally like most of the enhancements.

Quoting: williamjcmA shame the current version of the game doesn't run on AMD GPUs on Linux (except Steam Deck, it seems) if you select the Vulkan renderer, no matter if you use AMDVLK or RADV drivers.Aww that sucks. I have to build a new PC to run this game, and I am definitely going to run full AMD.
The D3D11 renderer does work, but vegetation has some nasty flickering.
I really hope it'll be fixed for the game's launch.

Too bad OW2 sucks. Should've made the first one f2p and released a map editor. That would've run forever.

Quoting: hardpenguinRIP :cry:Quoting: officerniceSteam on i3 has been quite wonky since the UI update. Drop down menus basically don't work anymore. I cannot sort my wishlist, clicking on the sections in the drop-down does nothing. It's the same when right-clicking on an owned game in the library. Electron is lovely.i3 users don't get to complain 🤪
