Quoting: SparhawkLittle Computer People

Thank you for reminding me of Little Computer People. I played this game with my children on the Commodore 64.

One interesting thing mentioned in the Wikipedia article is:

QuoteCopy protection
In pirated copies of the game on the Atari ST (and possibly other platforms) the game would load, but the character would simply stand knocking on the screen and wagging a finger at the player disapprovingly.
I know this was not the case on the Commodore 64 version... Not that my copy of the game was pirated, of course.

Liam
Thanks for alerting us to this sale. I likely would have missed it. I have worked for decades for an organization that serves people with disabilities. I would have been very disappointed if I had missed the opportunity to support this charity. In addition, I picked up a copy of No Mans's Sky for 50% off. Win-Win. This game has been on my wishlist for years.

When I think of Snap, I immediately think of the American military acronym SNAFU.

Prism Launcher for Minecraft Java has a nice bug-fix release out
27 July 2023 at 2:51 pm UTC

A couple questions for those more knowledgeable than I on the subject of Minecraft launchers...

For years I have been using MultiMC. Prism Launcher has a very similar interface. I have never used ATLauncher, GDLauncher or Prism Launcher. Since MultiMC is also open source, I was thinking that perhaps Prism Launcher is a fork of MultiMC or vise versa. Is this a valid assumption?

Every few months I invite all the grandchildren over to play Minecraft. I have eight laptops that use MultiMC as the launcher for Minecraft. We have one of the laptops as the host and the rest of the kids connect over the LAN. It is a great time! What (if any) are the advantages to using Prism Launcher over MultiMC?

Top-down paper-folding puzzle adventure Paper Trail talks up Steam Deck support

Thank you Liam for bringing this game to my attention. My favorite demo on Next Fest was ViewFinder. After watching the YouTube video, I decided Paper Trail has the same vibe.

Check out the demo of Full Void, a dystopian cinematic puzzle-platformer

This game is quite different from the other PC games (racing, football and mobile) published by OutOfTheBit Ltd. The fact that protagonist is a young boy, he is being hunted and the are puzzles and platforming; I was reminded of INSIDE. I enjoyed the 30 minutes I played the demo. Of course, I got stuck on one of the puzzles, but hope to get back to it at some point and have Wishlisted the game.

Great review! Sounds like something I would enjoy. There is a demo available on Steam, so I will can give it a try before I buy. I love having the option to play demos. I look forward to the Next Fest event on Steam.

KDE are raising funds for the Kdenlive video editor

Thanks for the heads up on this fund raiser Liam. I made a donation.

Over the last year I have switched from using Xfce to KDE for my desktop environment. For that reason and because I have noted a couple content creators that I follow recommend Kdenlive over OBS, I installed Kdenlive on one of my machines.

The timing of this article is rather fortuitous in that received a video from a friend that I need to edit. Up to this point I have only been doing a test drive of Kdenlive. It will be interesting to see if my donation is a good investment, so to speak.

Mask of the Rose from Failbetter Games delayed until April 2023

I played the Failbetter browser-based game, Fallen London, for a number of months. The premise and setting of this game is fascinating and utterly surreal. I feel that the browser-based game gives much more in-depth insight into the world of Fallen London than either Sunless Sea or Sunless Skies. When I read about the Kickstarter for Mask of the Rose on GoL, I immediately backed the project. I played the demo back in February and enjoyed it. For those of you that would enjoy a romantic tale set in an absolutely bizarre world, you should check out the demo.

Tactical battler Tyrant's Blessing is out now with Linux support and Steam Deck Verified

Played this game during the Steam Next Fest event in June. I attempted to play many different games labeled as being compatible with the Linux/Steam OS during this event. Some of the featured demos did not work correctly, but I remember distinctly that Tyrant's Blessing worked flawlessly. I also remember enjoying the game play.

It is probably worth mentioning that the demo for Tyrant's Blessing is still available.
