If you enjoy replayable games that have plenty of action, exploration and comedy - Lucky Tower Ultimate is one you need to pick up. After being in Early Access since 2024, Studio Seufz have launched it with a nice big content update. And, if you haven't played for a while, there's a lot more to explore and discover in it since the original EA release.
What exactly is it? A slapstick chaotic roguelite dungeon crawling adventure that's different every time you go through. It will challenge you just as much as it will make you laugh. Knock creatures out and pick them up to use as a weapon, rescue and recruit companions to help you and drink a dodgy potion or two to see what happens - it has a little bit of everything really. It's one I simply love to keep coming back to because it's just a thoroughly good time.

The 1.0 update comes with major new end-game content to play through in the form of a multi-stage quest. There's multiple new locations, new music, new achievements and best of all - over 600 new voice lines. It's dialogue and the voice work that really sells this one, it's brilliant and makes me chuckle away as I'm playing it.
For any post-release support the developer has confirmed "you can definitely expect us to continue nurturing Lucky Tower Ultimate and to stay with it for as long as we can" but the game as it is right now is a complete experience from start to finish.
It works perfectly on Linux with Proton, and last I checked on Steam Deck directly it worked wonderfully there too.
Game Highlights:
- Randomly generated levels and haircuts keeps every playthrough fresh
- Hand-drawn 2D graphics that feel like an immersive cartoon
- Full voice acting makes for kickin’ times and smashing punchlines
- Multiple ways to exit the tower, including a dark and atmospheric Cave
- Learn and experiment without limitations (or hand holding)
- Unlock companion quests by escaping the tower with them by your side
