'Devil Daggers' is one of my biggest surprises this year for Linux gaming

One step ahead of you ;)
Very cool minimal design game, though admittedly after I satisfied my petty competitiveness I put it down; a bit too high stress for my gaming mood this week :B

I saw and bought this the other day, but I ended up refunding it within the hour. I was really taken in by the cute gimmick, but past that the game just seems to get repetitive really quickly and I found none of the rewards very satisfying.
That said, it seems pretty well put together, might just be a game that doesn't resonate with me personally ^_^

I appreciate the spotlight. I love Itch but there's so much stuff so I haven't bothered looking for a while. A bit shameful since that's where I plan to publish my current game project
Kitty Horrorshow has some interesting abstract horror-y games on there.

BUTCHER from Transhuman Design releases with day-1 Linux support, it's brutal

But at other times it's basically a cost effective step up from 'programmer art', which is a term meaning the most basic graphics/shapes used by devs who have much more programming than art experience. I don't know where Butcher falls, but from the trailer I immediately thought that with the small scale and muted color pallet (save for red, of course) probably makes it a bitch to play :B As you can see with the above the picture, contrasting colors makes a big difference.
edit: Also, I'm in my early 20s, whose first console was the N64, so I can't really say my love is nostalgic in nature :P

Quoting: HohlraumCurious what other people's thoughts on how such a disproportionate number of indie games go the retro graphics route. Is it a cop out due to laziness? maybe trying eliminate scrutiny of the art assets? is the true target audience mobile? or is it truly nostalgia of a console generation? As a game developer starting out, with more research than results under his belt, I'd say it definitely depends. I'm quite passionate about pixel art (though currently looking at vector art) and I'd say titles like Hyper Light Drifter show how fantastic the medium can turn out with the right style and artistic skill.

Played it on PS4; it's a nice little game. Not perfect but worth it for the exhilarating running gameplay :)

I've had no problems playing on my rig, fortunately (GTX 760 Driver 367.44). As another user said, my 144 hz monitor doesn't seem to have problems going past the 60 fps (it actually started on 62 frames, I think) up to the 100s. I wonder if the monitor could have something to do with it?
I've played quite a bit with my girlfriend in the past on PS4, and it seems the practice has stuck with me. Almost feels like cheating to be a rookie again :B The Rumble mode is really really fun, if a bit more random and less skill based :P

I suppose they could've meant they aren't making enough to make/support other ports. Not great, but at least the reasoning is "Game X not popular enough to support linux", and not the other way 'round for once :P
Developer of 'Undertale' will apparently have another go at making a Linux port

Unfortunately I could no longer bear the wait and played it on WINE  The lack of communication really gets on my nerves, but I will say it's definitely a game worth playing
