That would be a bad idea for Valve if they still want to keep the Steam market around. Who is going to go to the market to buy items if you can just get it straight from Valve? Nobodys going to be selling their items for less then what valve sells them, and nobodys going to buy from people that price it higher than valve does.

I think the current system is fine, as Liam said, if you want something specific, buy it on the market or trade for it.

Also, I'm sure the lootbox system helps garner interest for the game, lots of videos on youtube of people unboxing insane skins or knives/gloves.

You can have a healthy community market anyways. As I said, you can make auctions with rare Items/Skins/Stickers. You can also give away fancy stuff through missions, that you can get while playing. You can also raffle items for people that solved specific missions and so on. That brings enough things that can be sold and keep the market alive. And these are only examples of what is possible without the gambling system.
Gambling is not the only possibility for that.

it has become a great game and is a lot of fun for me. But IMHO I am glad, I bought it as Beta 3 was in a good shape.
With watching a few tutorials and being eager to explore things, you can have hundreds of hours of fun with it. And they do support Linux very well.

And of course I am on

this is also a ton of fun for me. Even if it could be made a bit more up to date with graphics and so on.

I am also on TW3, but honestly, I do not like it as much as TW1. I am not that motivated to play it a lot. TW1 was the best game in the series. The best story and the best characters.

Perhaps they should consider to use the magic of multithreading. A lot of gamers have powerfull Multicore CPUs and then one Core can't handle its load while the others are bored and the game has performance issues? Sounds weird to me. Multithreading makes it harder to debug, that is clear.

Hmm kinda weird, the game has 83% positive Reviews but is constantly loosing gamers. So good luck to Valve, to get interested gamers back on the game.

I could play Stellaris againg, what a great game. But X4:Foundations is stealing to much of my time, and then there is CS:GO...and The Witcher 3 is not finished yet....spare time can be stressfull LOL

Draw a crosshair on your screen with a marker and nobody will ever catch you cheating!

I am more concerned about the possibility, that such overlays can be used for cheating, and so are detected as cheats.
And BTW, my aimbot works without crosshair :P

Yes, a great game. But TBH I am wondering, why it in the "Most innovative gameplay for a 2019 release".

I would have been happy to see it in the "Absolute favourite game for Linux released in 2019" - all the games there, are not that interesting to me.
